Another weekend, more projects...

So... this weekend, I decided to finally do something I was really worried about doing... smoking my tails...

here's the result... (note, I didn't want them too dark, just darker than stock...) still, I used about 2/3 - 3/4 of a can of VHT Nite Shades... the directions say no more than 3 coats or your light won't show through... well, their coats must be THICK as molasses since I did 6 or 7 light coats. There's also three coats of clear coat, I think my can was running out, as it was getting splotchy (might have to redo that later)...

Oh yeah, also got Mike T's grills... and did the "behind the teeth" install...

And, for good measure (just cause I had it laying around)... I took one of these (from ebay):

Image

And wired it up to replace my alarm's LED...

Image

It's located right above the gauge displays, with the wires running through the seam and down. PS, it's not lit in the pic...

Also finally had some time (and SUN!) to wash the car... LOVE the sight of a clean car (especially mine!)...

Tomorrow will be spent ripping the door panels apart to grab the side view mirrors for Mike T's little add-on.

Did you get the black Michael T grille? Lets see some grill pics in the light. I'm thinking about getting the polished Michael T grille for mine. I haven't seen a red one with it, so I'm not sure what it will look like.
As much as I like the billet grille, it's a bit expensive. If I'm going to drop near $500, I think I want the new intake first.

Yup, the black grills... and that is pretty much what it looks like in light (I had the flash on).

Thanks for the comments guys... I was SO nervous about the tails... my past attempt at paint jobs haven't exactly turned out well...

The lights and the grille looks nice man. . . You should sand it down with 1500 grit than 2000 grit and detail it with swirl remover than polish than wax and it will come out looking HELLA clean

StockSolara,

This wouldn't hurt the paint that I've already got on the light?

Is the sanding only to get the clear coat off?

the spray is named "nite shades" made by VHT. I picked it up from ebay for about $15... local auto shops may have it as well.
