Whats up guys, my name is Nick. I drive a 99 Solara SE V6 (unfortunately it's an automatic). I bought my car in July and have pretty much been browsing this site since then and though I should finally register. And I just wanted to thank some of you guys from this site because pretty much all the mods I have done to my car I did myself with a little help from this site. Blacked out headlights, Shaved Emblems, Chiping the chrome off the grill, carbon fiber vinyl over the wood trim, installing the eibach springs, and putting the Gen 1.5 front valences on my gen 1. So I just wanted to say thank you and show you some pics of my car.

Also my clock stopped working a while back so I bought another used one of ebay, and that one didn't work either. I checked the fuses under the hood and stering wheel, is there somewhere else I need to check, thanks in advance.
Also I don't know if any of you know but their was a Silver IC8 TRD lip kit brand new on ebay, it was posted on here but no one wanted to buy it because the guy had no feed back. Well the kit on my car now is that kit, I e-mailed the guy like 2 weeks after the auction ended and picked it up in Hollywood for $650, brand new still in the box, came with all the hardware, instructions, emblems.

Wow, Welcome! You should have joined once you started modding your ride. Anyways it looks great. What brand did you decide to use for your carbon fiber?

Looks Good

I think the only quick improvement I would recommend would be to replace the front emblem with a black pearl emblem one. Then it would look like its shaved to match the rear. Jon.

Thank you guys for the warm welcome, JMSinMaryland, how do I how do I remove the chrome emblem that is there now? When I took the grille off I took a quick glance but I don't know how to get it off. But I definately agree with you. SolaraGuy22, the vinyl I used was Avery. I heard some bad things about it from someone one this site but it was fairly easy to work with. I installed it about a week ago and it is still holding up. So with a hair dryer and 30 minutes or so, its a simple job and I think it matches really well with the charcoal interior. So in my opinion I am happy with the product. There have been some hot days, and some cold days and it is still going strong so i'm happy with it.

should be held in by clips... gen 1.5's are like that.... just pop it off using a small screw driver. be careful not to break it - its easy though. i did it on mine and just painted it black... looks much better IMO
