go pump it up to 35 psi since you are rolling on large wheels, you don't want to have too little air and risk bending the wheels over pothholes. Don't pump too much air though as that is not good for the suspension or the tires.

recommendation:

35 psi

Do not pump over 35 PSI.

Are these stock wheels or aftermarket? The pressure indicated on the door panel indicates the ideal pressure under stock conditions, based on stock wheels/tires... the one on the tire indicates the maximum rated for that tire. If those are stock wheels/tires, I'd go with the ideal recommended pressure that Toyota indicates on the door panel.

Optional as in from the factory? Or optional as in from the dealer? If it came as a factory option, then the posted tire pressure on the door plate shows the correct pressure for the wheels that shipped from the factory... if, at any point however, if the wheels were changed after being shipped from the factory, then the tire pressure in the door plate is no longer effective...

i am using 37-39 psi on my stock 17's. have the trd springs and rsb. i would prefer the set up to be a few notches stiffer so this helps. i little more road noise and little more bumpy but i get a little more control. with the 18's maybe there is less sidewall deflection and would have greater path control.

I thought we are suppose to go by what the door panel says? It says that also in the manual book.

For stock 16s, it is 29 psi
For stock 17s, it is 32 psi

Not always. I have a Gen1, but it says something to the effect of raising the PSI from 32 (?) to 35 in locations where speeds over 100 mph are legal, and it is a 15s/16s car, so however that works...
