true but old styles come back there are a lot of cars on the market today with them......they don't look good on every car but they'll look good on a solara with some chrome rims

Typically going for around $65 for the set - I was able to pick them up for around $40, including S/H from HK - should get them in a week or two...

Not to hijack the thread but it pisses me off that I have visible scratches behind my door handles. I'm a guy, I have no fingernails, and I'm the only driver so wtf. Is the clearcoat that delicate? I'm sure it'll buff out in the spring.

I second that...

I got some Meguiar's Scratch X Remover and it does a decent job of masking them up... but you have to re-apply it after you wash your car. Any other solutions anyone know of besides buffing?

Yeah - exactly!! And the killer is, there's no door protection on the sides of the Solara like there is most other 'Yotas... bummer. :(

My Tundra used to get the scratches behind the handle too and I couldn't ever seem to really buff those out. After a couple years of off-road abuse, I gave up trying.

Clear Protection

Postby joebxr » Tue Feb 21, 2006 5:19 am

I've been searching for the website and can't seem to find it...wanted to be able to provide it to everyone..... anyway,

there is a website that shows and offers a clear protector (like the clear bras), that is designed to fit behind the door handle to protect against scratches. If anyone else knows about this maybe they can post the link. I'll keep looking to see if I can find it.
