As far as getting the GE kit after buying the car for $1K, dream on. If it was available at that price, everyone would be on it like white on rice. You have to buy each part separately and the price is really expensive in the end.

The key phrase here is:

"...in the end." (if ya know what I mean!) :-?

I asked my dealership and the body shop that I have had many little fixes done at, and they said that there is a template that has to be used to install it and you have to make cuts into both the front and rear bumper. Apparantly it is very hard to make it fit the right way without ruining the bumper. I'd love to have it on my SLE, but Ive given up on that idea- I'll just lower it and be happy with it.

Well - sounds like the conclusions I've come to for the mean time as well.

By the time I may be ready for one, they might be an after-market kit that works better and is easier to install anyway. ;)

I'm ordering the mud flaps for now.

I got mine installed at the dealer, through a friend, though.

I know you have to order each piece seperately. I remember hearing 1200, but that might have been unpainted and not installed.

I bet i would be $2000+ from a stealership, if you could even get them to agree to do it.

Does anyone know where we can find part #s for the individual pieces? Maybe we can run those through a body shop and get actual pricing - painted and installed.

My guess it's gonna be at least $2k

Geez - and its listed as a $995 package from the dealer new.

Bummer.

Mayabe that is where I got that price from. Sorry guys. I just remember somewhere around $1k, but I guess that is from the dealer at time of purchase.

So you can buy the hardware, but not the kit itself...

WTF?
