Chrome painted bulbs?

Chrome painted bulbs?

Postby kgzero1 » Tue Feb 07, 2006 7:10 pm

Are these bulbs I see on ebay, as bright as those that are not painted? I would think it would block some of the light.
Do these last less than those unpainted lights?
I am trying to replace the front turn signal bulbs and the reverse lights, in case you are curious.

Hey... I've tried the front painted "chrome" signal bulbs... they are definitely dimmer...

Assuming you still want amber signal lights, I'd suggest getting the Silverstar Signal Lights for the front... it's not painted "chrome", but isn't amber either... it's more "invisible" than the regular amber bulbs, while still giving off an adequate amber light.

I would buy them off of you, but I am trying to get rid of the amber color. I don't like how it lights up amber while you headlights are on. I was actually trying to get white lights. Thanks though.

Got Rice?

You have 3 different bulb colors on the front of your car? Why not just get the washer LED's as well and maybe different colors LED's for your license plate. Bleh. Unless you can find an exact match for your headlights which you won't go with either the Sylvania or APC Titan series. Jon.

Yeah they are without a doubt dimmer... I bought the Xenon Cromados, and having a 99 that doesn't beep when I lock the car, I wasn't even able to tell if I armed the car in direct sunlight and demanded a refund. However, I got another set of license plate bulbs (bought both lights at the same time) to mimic the GS, although it's dim as hell and I'd probably attract the attention of the pigs unless they look real hard.

Yeah, I got some "white light" bulbs, the ones that are actually painted blue, and those are definately dimmer as well. Sucks, but now I am thinking of just putting the yellow ones back in.
