Ground Effects kit installed at factory?

Ground Effects kit installed at factory?

Okay - so I know I could have special ordered my SLE with a GE package but the dealer won't order/install one after I've driven the thing off the lot. I can't order one through parts dept either so where do I get it if I want one now?

Bummer as it's less than a $500 option new - I know it'll be at least 3 X that pinted and installed now. Sux.

Good luck finding one, a lot of people here have tried to buy it after the purchase of the car have had no luck, or found it at a price of $1K.

Crap. Was afraid of that. Most of the aftermarket kits I've seen look really over the top and ricey IMO. Ack.

Maybe I'll check with a body shop and see if they can get "replacement parts" for them???

Thanks for your input - Jeff

That sux that you cant purchase the ground effects kit from Toyota. Next best thing would be dropping the car and getting some nice aftermarket rims/tires.

Or, look for someone who is willing to part with their kit.

Goodluck!

GE Kits

Postby PXLpainter » Tue Feb 07, 2006 8:55 pm

Well - after seeing "mikei's" ride, I think I wanna just dump it a couple inches and put those little mud flaps on and get some sweet rims now. ;)

I parked next to an '05 SLE Coupe last night - Lunar Mist like mine, and they had the GE package. After looking at the car, I really think that when its lowered that dramatically (2+" instead of 1-1/2") I like the lines with thos little accents better. Just my personal pref now... but maybe I've just given up on the GEs anyway...

What I'd really like is a Super Charger anyway and not sure if/when TRD is going to put one out. Hmmm...

Yeah, I remember those days. I gave up getting one cuz I was still in college and couldnt afford it.

I was pretty surprised to see how cheap it is now for the Gen2, but then again it seems very hard to get unless you already got it with a SE Sport.

You may be right - it might have been an SE Coupe with the sport package instead. It was dark and I didn't check the badging on the trunk. I was just excited to see one in person the same color and wheels as mine to compare. ;)

If you have a 4 cyl, you may be able to install the TRD Supercharger for the tC.

I just found this site that makes body kits.
http://www.vizages.com/
They seem to be some nice lokking body kits. They don't seem to make one for the Solara, but they have them for the Camry. I emailed them to start up some intrest with the Solara's. I told them about the people on this site.
Email them, so that, possibly, they end up making one for our car.

Thanks for the link...

Sent them a request - they have a nice agressive look to their styling without being corny like the other ones I've seen so far...
