I did the proto. Drace99 installed his w/o assist I think. Check the Gen2 Tutorial section for some tips I posted. The instructions are very good though. You should have no trouble. Make sure to post your reactions with the install and the performance! (The sound!!!!!)
And I've alread posted my reactions to the point of making everyone sick. Nutshell=best mod ever, best bang for the buck, best quality engineering for Gen2 performance, and just a killer growl that you'll love.
I think you'll be the first with the cp-e big pipe and the TRD muffler. Can't wait to hear what it does for your sound when gunning it.

It's a great system. I've got it on my solara for 3 months. The most noticeable difference is on the second gear, i love it.

Sounds is amazing.

Fuel consumption went up from 11 liters to 12 liters.

I am thinking about buying trd sports muffler but it doesnt get me excited.

It's about the time to get more serious upgrades for gen 2 solaras besides cpe intake.

well i just talked to Josh Adams from CP-E, and the average gain with this intake is around 10hp and 9tq, most people request knowing those facts so here you go. I will try to find out as much as possible for you all.

I remember asking this, but don't recall getting an answer....

Probably a longshot, but is it CARB-approved?

It IS NOT carb approved b/c of the following reasons:
-not enough sales for this intake
-not worth the money if they dont make enough the sales also

it costs them almost 4000 dollars to have them approved but with the mazda 6 s, theyve sold many intakes and those ARE carb approved. As for emissions the intake should be find b/c its better fo the fuel? correct me if im wrong or not...but he told me as for the cali ppl, it is a easy process to swap back to stock for emissions when needed.

I hope this helps you out for your question.

Thanks for the info Biggi_e. This mod, at this moment, is not for me. Maybe in a year or so, when I run out of things to do :)

Thank for the updated info - looking forward to seeing pics of the final install.

As for sound clips - do you have a PeeCee or a Mac?

QuickTime or Windoze Media Player movies of recorded sounds are easily shared. ;)

I did purchase CP-E Mafci system for my 2006 Solara SE V6 by using their website. I received a phone call ,same day, telling me that the system has not been tested enough for the 2006 model. I've my car since less than a month and I purchased almost all mods available for my black beast, all TRD stuff as muffler front strut bar, rear sway bar, lowering spring, air filter...Micheal T Grilles. As there is no S/C available yet, I had to choose between Injen and CP-e. As CP-e do some specific stuff for the Solara and that Inejn just give the same intake as for the old Camry and Solara 3.0L V6...I prefer stuff that was develop for the 3.3L engine. I'll have to wait some more, but I'm sure that those honest guys will come up with the 2006 version of it. Glad for the power...I don't if CP-e is really better than Injen...but I heard about a great sound comeing from the CP-e system. I was a bit afraid about the programmable version, anyway I don't think I will never have to reset in my way the stock data entered by CP-e.
