That Buick commerical has all these little gadgets have a 'merry xmas'. Its not boiling water, its just heated to make things/life easy! I'm guessing in 3-4 years this will as common as cruise control!

meh, i would say its a gimmick.

I would only consider this if I lived in very icy conditions. I dont think it would clean your winshield any better.

The Buick Lucerne has it- its great for frost- blast the windshield with hot wash fluid- frost instantly gone! If I drove my car more (If it started), Id buy something like that for mine. I HATE scraping frost off of it if I have to park it outside.

If I remember correctly, the Buick Lucerne heats it up to 171 degrees so you can shoot it onto the windshield and it will still be hot.

I cant imagine that it would be hot enough to burn someone, thats a law suit waiting to happen.

According to Buick's website, "The Lucerne heats the washer fluid to aproximately 149 degrees so when you are faced with ice and snow, you'll have a better view of the road ahead."

Never thought of it burning someone, but how often do you spray washer fluid while you are outside of your car.

Trust me, there are people who will.

But 149 is hot but I doubt it would cause any serious burns coming out in a little spray like that.

I picked up the same one for my ex-gf's car. This one only goes to about 60 degrees Celcius max, they said at Canadian tire they can adjust it to a lower temp if you wanted. It works pretty good, and it never got too hot to crack the windshield or burn anyone. I think the windsheld would crack if the temperature change was extreme, but this isn't.

It still took a few minutes to get rid of the fog on the inside of the windshield but was a lot less time than usual. I picked it up on sale for about $20 around x-mas, but I've seen that the price has gone up huge after they figured out it actually worked.
