I have run mine for about 20K and didn't have any noise until now. At low speeds it sounds like an old wooden sailing ship creaking in a heavy sea. It seems to be going away now for me too after a couple months.

TRD Lowering springs

Postby PXLpainter » Wed Feb 01, 2006 12:51 am

I'm new to the board (brand new ride to start moddin') ;)

So do most here do their own installs on things like springs or do you have a shop do it for you? I see that the dealer sells the springs (as well as many online stores) but will they install as well - or suggestions as to where to go and not get ripped off?

Also - how does it affect the warranty?

Thanks - Jeff

Mine 2004 SE on TRD springs is doing the same thing. Wierd noise on low low speed and its getting a little louder when you turn wheel all the way to one or the other side.

I think it got better as I drive more. Whats this talk about trd quality all about ?

is it normal for a STOCK suspension to make noise like that?

stock made no noises for me. but the slow speed clicking has come back. urgh! no way this kinda of quality would be offered in Japan! only this from "made in the usa" - maybe it's not, but these are sold by TRD USA and the Solara is made in the US. why doesnt Toyota USA just admit these are defective in design? i have sent emails to trd and they dont tell me anything substantial. it is obvious they know exactly what is the cause since everyone who has trd springs has the same problem! heck, i would even pay for new ones, at cost, if they were just upfront with these things. typical american managers' thinking. this is why american cars are so crappy. they dont think anyone will notice how poorly products are designed and manafactured. TRD USA is being stupid stupid stupid! Will anyone else here buy another expensive TRD product after experiencing quality and design defects if a competitor is offering similar performance/price and has a stellar reputation for quality?
