Okay... sorry for the confusion, I was at work so I couldn't spend time explaining properly (and it's been kinda a scatter-brained day).

TRD offers a standard 12 month warranty on all of their "level 1" parts... which includes the sway bar. So if you install it yourself, you get this warranty... HOWEVER... if you get it installed at a dealership, I believe you get the extended warranty automatically from the dealership (and they will settle with TRD for parts flaws). I purchased mine from Claremont Toyota and they explained it this way, and my dealership confirmed it...

There really isn't all that much to go wrong with a RSB though, so the warranty in this case probably shouldn't be of great concern to you... The only real problem that people have been running into is having to re-grease it... no big deal.

hmmmm.... i just received mine in the mail today. But i got no instructions for installation (just like cklinh). All i received was the RSB, the grease, and two black spools (sorry, for my vague description, im a newbie when it comes to working on cars). Can someone possibly send me the instructions for installation? or possibly post a tutorial? I think I remember there being a tutorial on this a while ago, but i cant find it anymore. thanks.

Yeah, none of them came with instructions (I guess they assume that you will either have the dealer do it, or if your willing to do it yourself it's an easy enough job to figure out). I agree that there should be a Gen2 tutorial (I thought there was one as well), that would make things a lot easier for some... Take a look under your car; it should already have a black rear sway bar that came from the factory (the SE Sports do, I would assume the other models do as well). It should be pretty much a direct replacement.

The "black spools" are your bushings :-)

Meanwhile, here's one for the Gen 4 Camry.. it's pretty much the same installation process.

thanks prodigy! also, why is it that most ppl on these forums go for the middle setting on the RSB? Is the sacrifice in ride quality that much worse than the amount of improved handling for the inner most setting? Or is the difference in handling between the middle and competition setting just so minimal?

There's a good difference between the middle street setting and the track setting... most people choose to begin with the middle setting (and many stay with it) just to get used to the ride (it gets rid of most understeer, so if you are a more agressive driver this can cause trouble until you get used to it if you aren't careful). It's usually recommended just to kinda get you used to the difference, then if you decide you want more it's very easy to change settings.

hmmm.... id really prefer to do the install only once. So, im kinda leaning towards the competition setting (yea, i crave better handling). Do you know if this would hurt my suspension at all, especially since mine is an SLE?

I wouldn't say that setting your TRD RSB on the track setting would hurt the suspension, but I say that if you do the RSB you might as well lower the car with lowering springs. Eibach, H&R, TRD, make great lowering springs for the Gen 2 Solara.

A car's suspension works together so if you modify one part of the suspension, you should work on other parts as well.

when you get the TRD RSB from a dealer, the instructions should be in the box as well.

I got my RSB from a dealer and it didn't have the manual (and I've heard that from many other people)... Are you sure yours did?

Also, since he has the SLE I do NOT recommend the TRD springs, however the others you mentioned would be good.
