Advice on rim selection

Advice on rim selection

Postby Jack Soulfire » Wed Jan 11, 2006 1:51 pm

I'll be getting my tax return soon and am planning to buy my first set of rims. I really like the looks of a few of the current models in the Konig line. I'm assuming to get something either 18" or 19".

I'm really having trouble selecting though since I can't actually see what they'd look like on the Solara body.

The one's I'm interested are pictured below, in order.. Imagine, Trouble, and Prophet. My favorite so far is the Imagine's which resemble BMW stocks to me, The trouble's have a cool two-tone effect with the Graphite, and the Prophets I think would look nice as well. I wanted something that looks really nice without looking ghetto or gawdy.

Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated, like I said this is my first rims purchase. I'm not necessarily sold on these three so if anyone has any advice from another manufacturer that looks really nice on the Solara I'm open to ideas.

not a huge fan of konigs however the imagines are quite nice. check out axis wheels, racing harts, rays (expensive as a bitch), tsw's etc... keep your eyes open for good deals, theyre always out there. check out discount tire direct, they have great deals most the time, wheel max, wheels next, all decent wheel sites.

Unless the other two are really three piece rims, i'd get the troubles.

I might choose the TSW Kiyalami over the Konig Imagine now.

I think this might be at the top of my list at the moment... still another week until I'm ready to go buy though.

Of the choices, I like the Imagines or the Troubles.

yeah, I read some reviews about the Konigs and people said they bend if you ram over a pothole or something. Go w/ the TSW's... or Motegi's =)

Prophet

Postby JMSinMaryland » Thu Jan 12, 2006 5:17 am

Akfahad I believe has the prophet's on his Gen 1 and they look REALLY good on his car. I used to have Verdicts on my 01 Solara which matched the paint perfectly and have Unknown's on my 99 Camry. Good luck. Jon.
