The new car, yes new, not a rebuilt tranny.

Sorry about the thread that lead to the troll corral. I've been very busy lately and haven't been able to get any pictures. I was going to post this in pictures and videos, but figured it was only proper to give the car an introduction to you all.

Details first:

1999 SE V6
5 spd manual transmission
Black on black leather
77k miles
purchased on ebay for $8,099
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... AMEWA%3AIT
Had my cousin go look at it becuase it's in Raleigh and he lives there. Her pictures don't show the leather well, it's definitely a nice dark tone, you guys know what it looks like.
Flew to Raleigh December 2nd with a friend and drove it back.
Pretty much fully optioned. The differences I've noticed from my SLE are no homelink, no auto-dim mirror, slightly different AC vent, manual AC control ( ) and that's about it. It truly is just about a gem.
None of that stupid fake woodgrain falling apart or anything.
I never would have beilieved in that accident I'd end up getting this car for much cheaper than my old one.
The things I didn't liek about my SLE were there transmission and the interior color. These are both proper in this car now. It is a very rare Solara from what I've seen. The 99 V6 SE black on black leather with a 5spd.

Anyhow, enough of that and onto the pictures. It was raining today so I only have a few, and it's hard to get interior pictures while you're inside with the door closed to stop incoming rain. The only two mods I've made thus far are visible in the pictures and I greatly thank Previs (nj99solara) for advice on the nightshades.

I'm in the process of decicing to drop it on 17's or keep it up there on 18's. I'm not exactly sure yet. As the manual hauls ass compared to the auto, the only performance mod I'm doing for a while is the K&N dropin. The thing doesn't flat out haul ass, but the top of 1st gear will throw you back a good amount, and 2nd and 3rd are no slouches. Put it this way, my auto ran 16.18, and IO already beat a truck that does 15.65 in this car, and it was by a car or two every time by 70 or 80.

The windows are being tinted tomorrow, and hopefully within a month or two I'l be riding on new shoes, and then I'll be in the market for a TRD lip kit, if anyone is planning on selling a GOOD condition black one let me know. If you're selling any other color you can run it by me, but I'm likel;y going to offer less because of a necessary paint job.

It feels good to be an owner in the community once again.

Now I've owned two Solaras, where's that damn Bill Parcells .GIF? :P

Thanks, but I really once again have to thank Previs for the idea. It was all him, my ride is simply a means of conveyance, lol. I've really been getting crazy amounts of compliments on them already in the few days they've been that way.

By the way, I'm down for a FL Solara meet now that I have a Solara again.

My plan to make that one was to be driving this car home and stop on the way, but plans got pushed back slightly and I had to go pick it up the next week.

sweet ride, now that you have the 5 speed you gotta get the twm shortshifter, makes the car sooo much more fun to drive.
