TIre Replacement
I have a '04 SLE with Turanza tires and they need to be replaced. Can someone make a recommendation?

Unfortunately they do not have the OE size; and I do prefer the OE size as I need the clearance for tire chains (I go skiing in winters and have to pass chain control area).
My (OE performance package) Toyos were replaced by the Michelin MXV4 S6 a few months ago. Comparing the two, I would say performance wise as for cornering etc are comparable. At the same time you can feel the MXV4 is a typical passenger tire as it has less noise and is softer (makes the car a bit bouncy). Typically, automotive websites will classified this tire in passenger luxury segment. In my opinion the MXV4 S6 would be an upgrade in both comfort and performance (not in extreme but in a good measure) compare to the Turanza. Furthermore this MXV4 is known for long lasting mileage; I do expect they last ~ 3x longer than the Toyos or Turanza (not necessary all in Solara, but I’ve experience using all three tires in the past).
