I have only had it a week and just love the way it drives.
Here are the specs:
2006 SLE V6, Color: Oceanus Pearl with Dark Stone leather interior, moon roof, rear spoiler, VSC, and JBL 3-in-1 head unit.
I think the sequential shift transmission is pretty fun, and makes the car a lot more responsive to the right foot. Hey, I already got a ticket on it, what's a guy to do? 72 on a 55 :(
Anyhow I really like all the vehicle specific info in this website.
I'm thinking about buying and installing the XM module in the next few weeks.
I live in Overland Park, KS - a suburb of Kansas City.

Great job on the website!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new purchase.

Sorry to hear bout your ticket, hope it wasn't too much.

I noticed you're going to purchase an XM piece for your stock head unit. I've got one I will be selling next week if you're interested. Not really looking to sell it for much. I'll try to get some pics if you're interested.

Good luck w/ the car and keep that lead foot off the gas pedal to avoid those tickets.

Enjoy the forum!

Michael,
Is your XM unit the module that hard wires to the car's H.U.?
Please send me more info when you put it up for sale. e-mail: oscardejesus@sbcglobal.net

Thanks,

Oscar

Just to add a bit to my intro,
I forgot to say that this is the 2nd Solara for me. I had a 4 cyl. 1999 Gen 1 from 99 until 03, after that I went through 3 Chevy Tahoes (one of them was a lemon so I only had it a couple of months). Anyhow is great to back to Toyota. The V6 makes this car a whole new animal, I love it!
On this new Solara, the dealer here in KC offered me free car washes and free tires for life, if I get the scheduled maintenace, oil changes, and tire rotation at his place. Seems like a good deal, I'll have to see how their service stacks up, but so far they have been great. Got it for about $23,500 which is just about over $10 over dealer invoice (Sticker was $28,700).

I'm thinking about color keying the badges in the trunk, I just ordered the paint yesterday. I think I'll start with just the V6 badge and see how it looks.

I'll post some pics of the car in the next few days.

I picked up my 06 SLE Droptop over Labor Day weekend with just enough summer left to get used to the car - now I miss having the top down every day though.

The Manumatic shifting is fun - but being a lifelong manual trans guy I keep wanting to pull to go from 1 to 2 (oops).

I have noticed that the Manumatic transmission will shift for you if you forget to or if you try to red line it. I guess those toyota engineers are looking out for us after all.
