Door Sill Plates

Mine are pretty scratched up... not from kicking or stepping on though...

the adhesive wasn't that strong (or wasn't applied properly... doubt it, since you just unpeel and stick)... anyways, parts of it would stick up and when I close the door, it hits and scratches it...

I read somewhere that you are supposed to remove the plastic sill protectors that come on the vehicle before you put the stainless ones on....is that true and is that how yours are done?

I don't think so, cuz that just one big piece, and you would be missing the part that covers the part of the carpeting, not just the small section the sill protectors cover.

No, its 80/pair.

Where did you guys find out that they scratch easily? That would also be a big deal for me.

don't know....thought i saw someone post something...maybe i saw it elsewhere??? but i would imagine if you scuff up the sills w/ your shoes, they would get scratched if youre not careful....

Well I tend to be on the not careful side, so I would probably scratch it up pretty quickly. I would still like to get them, just because I like the way they look.

I'll let you know, I won't get them until Holloween, since I have a coupon (good for that day only) from my dealer for 30% off any accessory (excluding TRD stuff, that sucks), so I was thinking of getting the door sills at that time.

about $60...not bad...definitely good deal ...lol so in the end if they get scratched, you wont have to feel too bad knowing you got it for almost 20$ less

Well, I decided not to get the door sills and instead I got myself this:

INFINITY Kappa 693.7i to replace my stock rear speakers.

hey that works! yea as hot as they are, i was kinda turned off at the thought of my passengers (or even myself) scratching my $80 sills. i'll put that money to use towards something else...maybe a cf auto shift knob (if i find one)

Excellent sound quality and the magnet wont touch the rear metal brace.

I've had my door sills for many months and not a scratch anywhere. Who steps on the door sill area anyway when getting in or out? I wouldn't worry much at all about getting them all scratched up unless you have very clumsy passengers. The sills sure make the car look nice.

That's totally crazy. I followed the instructions closely cleaning the plastic pieces really well first and my adhesive was super strong. No way is any of it coming up at all ever. Sounds like perhaps you didn't properly clean your plastic pieces first.
