Celica steering wheel help

Postby SpikedMantis » Tue Feb 15, 2005 8:56 am

I installed the steering wheel, but I need some help with wiring the horn and cruise control. Has anyone else done this successfully? I know some members have put the wheel on, but I haven't heard anything about the horn or cruise control. Thanks!

The airbag was plug and play, but the other parts are not. They don't match up exactly.

Of the wheel or the wiring? If the wiring, it will take a bit because I'll have to take it apart again.

I am not sure about the the Celica wheel, when I installed my Momo, I had to spice a wire with gives 12V.

Use a voltmeter to find out which one. You will have to spice two since you will need to connect the ground also.

Here's a pic of it. I'll try to get more when I have time to remove everything to see the wiring.

Okay, I've finally found some time to do this. I'm going to hot wire my horn and cruise control this weekend, but if anyone has any wiring diagrams for a 2001 Solara and a last gen Celica, it would be most helpful.

Im sorry I cant help you with your problem, but I was wondering how much a celica steering wheel cost and if it comes in ivory? I was just wondering cause i may replace my steering wheel in the future. The leather on it is getting worn out pretty bad.

I'm pretty sure the celica wheel didn't come in ivory. I bought my wheel on ebay with an airbag for about 250, but it was used.

Yeah I had a feeling ivory didnt come in celicas. Come to think of it that would look just downright ugly in that car.

Krook that is cheap if you found one for 100 something bucks. I was thinking the minimum would be like $450

Hrm... on the MR2 the steering wheel actually is more or less plug and play for the horn and CC, however... the airbag doesn't work at all and it won't be working due to different sensor readings. I would assume that all you'll have to do is splice the wires directly to each other instead of using their harness plugs.
