Solara test car wanted in CT or NYC area

A few of my friends and I are starting a company to make performance products for cars that dont get much love. We are going to start up doing 1mz performance products, Y-pipes, exhausts, turbo kits, intakes, intake manifolds/throttle bodies, engine covers, fuel upgrades, and plug and play tuning solutions.

I would like to start with the solara community with free flowing 1mz Y pipes and exhausts.

I would need a test car to design some Y-Pipes and exhausts for maybe 2 days to design, mock up, make a mold, and then finish up. It may also be just taking the stock stuff off for the test fitting and then sending the final product out to the tester for a very reduced price.

I would like to get this started in the next few weeks. If anyone is interested post up questions or PM me. I am in the center of CT, and also in NYC. We are opening a shop up in the Bronx in the next week.

I'm with you! I'm gonna hold off from the SC and hope a turbo kit comes out.

well thats the plan. affordable stuff is always good. im guessing its going to be around 750 for the headers/y-pipe/hi-flow cat, 400-450 for the cat-back exhaust, dont know about the intake manifolds, i need to talk to my aluminum welder guy... those will get up there probably. the intake manifolds will include a big TB. turbo kits will be before manifolds though. I am looking at around 2800-3000 for the complete kit, with intercooler, injectors, fuel pump, (maybe head gaskets, if mine blow), a fuel controller (dont know which yet, safc2 or i MAY even step it up to the emanage ultimate, which would raise the price of the kit a little, but it'd be SO worth it.)

about the emanage ultimate, anyone know anyone who has tried one out yet? supposedly there is a feature that lets you eliminate the MAF, and put in desired values in a table. also there is a self tuning by wideband A/F ratio feature. that all sounds sooooo awesome, along with the ability to alter timing too, cant beat it for the price. so we'll see what happens with my project, and whatever my project is, pretty much that will be the turbo kit that is sold. my setup is going to look like crap for a while till i have the money from sales of exhausts and y-pipes to clean it up and get the turbo kits made. im thinking late november or december for turbo kit sales (if i get a solara by then), and the exhausts and y-pipes before that.

If i dont find someone to be my test monkey (just for fitment, not for testing the kit on the motor, that will be done already) then i may have to start by just selling gen 3 and 4 camry stuff for 1mz and then doing solara after i find a test car. I think someone will be willing though. I'll probably just charge them for the cost of parts, and make no profit on my tester.

I'm going to maybe be looking at buying my totaled car (it got wet not wrecked) back from my insurance company. It's probably not gonna hapen, but if it does I'm stirpping a bunch of crap out/off, but it's nothing that you'd need and I may be able to ship you the car to work with.

Again this is a VERY VERY low chance possibility, but I'm just saying it's there.

cams would be nice, but i dont think that you really need cams until after you turbo, and upgrade other stuff... cams is sort of a least needed mod. especially with our motors, its almost impossible to mod the cams and have the cam timing be accurate with the whole scissor gear setup. we have DOHC, but its like a fake DOHC. we'll see... but those would be like forever away.

I know andy "Grazi" from RI is close enough where i can get together with him and do test fitting on his car, but i am almost positive he has a 4 cylinder. :(

Rizal has tried the E-Manage and it didn't work out too well on his Solara. . . a lot of the features don't work with our cars. . . So far the headers, intake manifold w/ throttle body, and Turbo Kit has got my attention. . . Keep us updated on what you're going to work on first and I hope you aren't going to make promises and bail out on us like several companies have

Lowell, damn... thats a good distance, but for a Y-Pipe and Exhaust, you'd probably want to make the trip to CT right? Like i said, i'd charge the tester for parts cost, not time or anything.

if you can give me headers and y pipe for parts cost I'll bring my car to you. I already have a catback system. I'm willing to drive out there for this and for my fellow solaraguys.
