CF Dash Kit - Gen 2

CF Dash Kit - Gen 2

Postby PhreakdOut » Sat Oct 22, 2005 9:05 am

Has anyone tried this dash kit? NOPI.com has the same CF pattern used by Toyota for the SE Sport interior.

I'm just curious on the looks (in real life) and the difficulty of the installation. At $331.50, I assume these are die cut decals. But cripes, that's a lot of money. :o

Shoe posted some wood trim dash kit with this many replacement pieces as the one you posted up bro. It's been quite some time and I'm a lil too tire to search for it. But there were pics of the wood trim actually installed in a Gen 2 with all the pieces; many peeps stated that it was overly done.

Nice find anyhow...

I knew I had seen this somewhere.

Pianist recently posted intro pics with this dash kit installed before he purchased the car.

if anything, i'd stick w/ the carbon fiber if you have a dark interior so it wont be too excessive with all the different parts. now do you have to use ALL the pieces?? maybe you could just pick and choose certain areas to be carbon/wood trim.

how about a colored ....red dash kit?? like the the pic below....i was thinking of eventually getting a red, but not as extreme. this would be a nice accent to your red interior.

I like the carbon fiber touches on my Sport's interior, and was thinking the other day about how nice it would be to have a few more things accented with the carbon fiber like near the door handles and power window buttons and the clear insert by the shift knob for instance.

I don't know about the middle dash though. That silver really clashes with the carbon fiber insert and looks kind of weird. I'd probably just use a few of the pieces, but wouldn't want to spend all that money just to use a couple of them.

My 2c.

PS - The picture with the blue interior is absolutely henious. No offense, I just think that looks uber-ghetto, nerd, rice etc etc...

I ageree. The silver knobs and head unit really clash with the CF.

ohh i agree, no doubt. lol ya i know the blue is a little too much. but actually the carbon fiber looks pretty decent with with the silver part as long as you dont wrap it around the jbl...like in the pic posted above. do you have any carbon fiber accents? like on the doors? make sure you take plenty of pix when you make changes!

lol, schlock schlock schlock is a censor when you drop the "s" bomb :-)

I would like to try the kit on my SLE, i never really liked that red fake wood trim. Someone said there were decals, so they stick over the red trim pieces? It would be cool to have them interchangable just in case i got sick of the CF, :-) I like how it looks in that door pic, is there one of the dash and door with the CF for nopi?

I agree with you guys about putting it around the radio, it looks better without, i just want to replace the red wood trim.

yea ...ok i agree, a red dash kit would be rather extreme. an plus i wouldn't do it cuz id be stealing the idea from this guy who had it in his toyota (even though he sold it) lol.

that would be nice...being able to change the dash kit each time you get tired of it. lol i think i'll stick with what i have for now. my doors have way more carbon fiber than my maxima ever did...lol which is none

i would just stick with anything contrasting even close to the silver. the carbon fiber is always nice, it does clash a little with the silver, but still looks nice. Im considering the gray marble and even my steering wheel.I wouldnt go with the red, but thats just my opinion. my birthday is coming up so maybe i know wat im gonna ask for now..hmmm. lol
