How much for moonroof install?

Postby kgzero1 » Thu Oct 20, 2005 8:34 am

I didn't get one cuz I figured I wouldn't want one, now I feel like getting one. But the whole leakage issue is something I would not want to deal with, so I guess I won't get one. Thanks for all your replies and clearing things up for me. As always all your help is appreicated.

I would have to concur with others who advise caution in getting this done. IIRC, the factory moonroof has drainage channels that can't be put in after the fact. This makes it more prone to leakage.

This is what I vaguely remember. Your mileage may vary.

I've seen it for as long as I've been on the internet/bbs (about ten years)... albeit not necessarily in chats... mostly newsgroups and forums...

i work in a body shop, and im just going to buy the whole roof off of a junk camry (oem parts) and replace the ROOF SKIN on my car, its just like removing a quarter pannel on a car. i looked around and it would cost about $225.00 for the roof and all the parts needed. im doing all the cake work on this project. i think thats the best way go with the sunroof or moonroof whatever you guys want to call it, as long it has a glass that opens and closes im happy, because if you cut a hole on your roof, well it a long story.

It's possible, but not practical (like a manual transmission swap from an automatic if there's already a manual version of that car).
