New Tires

New Tires

Postby rohand » Tue Oct 18, 2005 2:21 pm

So, the Toyos that came with my Solara, kinda suck. I'm thinking of getting new tires. My friend recommended the Kumho ECSTA ASX. The only question I have is, is it possible to install 235/50 on stock rims?

Thanks,

Rohan

before you get burned here, I would advise searching for "tire size" or any substitutable search keywords-just a friendly reminder for the future always search through the archives before posting, some people have little tolerance. Good luck.

Hey Lone, it depends on where you get the car... I've known other people who got their rides with Toyos.

Rohand, check out the link below... I put it together a while ago, I'll add 17"s later, but for now it should help you to figure out what to do... otherwise look up "tire size calculator" on Google and play with the Miata calculator for a while...

http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=19601

Considering the stock 2k4 came with 215/55R17s (118.25mm side wall), the 235/50s (117.5mm side wall) should be fine, with a total (overall) diameter loss of only 1.5mm...

Peace,

James

My Toyos aren't that great. 15k miles and my car's starting to slide every once in a while. They're cheap Toyos.

Thanks a lot Prodigy79. I appreciate it. Hopefully I'll get my tires by next week.
