Postby nohryi » Wed May 18, 2005 11:05 pm

Hi. I personally don't have these on my car, but I thought they may be interesting info for guys who like Mike's signa's and such.

1. Reverse Door Mirror Kit
This makes the mirror aim down when you put gear in reverse like the luxary cars.
http://www.datasystem.co.jp/catalog/rmk/rmk285.html

2.Backing Up Guide
They let you know how much distance you have behind your car.
http://www.datasystem.co.jp/catalog/bgs/index.html

3.Backing up Guide2
This is version of Backing up guide sensor, which don't show numbers, but with light and sound speed, it lets you know how close you are to an object

4.Stealth TV Antenna
Low profile sheet type antenna for those with TV tuner.

5.Replacement Back Mirror w/ 4LED
just a back mirror with lighting...blue or white LED

6.Interior Lights

7.Backup Camera
Hooks onto Video In for those with Moniters

8.Door Mirro Blinker
Here's several ones I found

http://www.rakuten.co.jp/brico/431574/5 ... 63/#594313

this one is vehicle specific...I don't know if solara's have same side mirror as other toyota vehicle may be...then it may fit. there is video too, pretty cool
http://www.ichikoh.com/youhin/product/mir_i.html

there was one similar to top one, just a stick by it self I've seen before, can'tremember where. Looks prett cool.
Any question, I'll try to translate it when I have time. Later guys

Pricing details for LED Turn Signal Side View Mirrors

Postby michaels artic frost » Tue Oct 04, 2005 12:23 pm

Just a little update since I've had quite a few of people email/pm me about the LED turn signals.

Below is a break down of pricing.

$60.00 ($30 each for the 2 sets of LEDS)
$10.00 (Shipping & Handling of LEDS)
$20.00 (30 minutes per LEDS. 1 hour total for prepping LEDS for weatherproof since they are not weatherproof - clear silicone)
$10.00 (8 gauge wiring, T-Tap/Quick connects and ground terminal ring)
$100.00 (2.5 hours of custom fabrication per mirror)
(Total of 5 hours for both mirrors $20 per hour X 5 hours = $100.00)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$200.00 Total
$ 40.00 overnight shipping and $400 insurance for mirrors or $20 USPS Priority Mail which is 2-3 business days including $400 insurance.

Depending on which shipping me you choose. Please keep in mind, I do not make any money on shipping and handling charges. I will charge exact shipping cost.

I've already had to ship this to several people already, so shipping should not exceed $40, unless you package your mirrors in some great big box that weighs a ton, shipping should be no more then $40.

Please let me know if I could be of assistance. If you have already made purchases from me in the past please bring this to my attention as I will try to work some type of discount for repeat customers.

Please keep in mind that this was something that I designed for myself and it's very time consuming and dangerous (Mirrors cracking and breaking). There's alot of work involved and any local shop could easily charge $50 per hour plus parts. I've went to several custom shops and was quoted $350 and up for labor.

I value all feedbacks.

Thanks,
Michael T.

If any Gen 1/1.5 members are interested, please let me know as I can look into this and will get back with you.

Now available are Custom LED Turn Signal Side View Mirrors.

The LEDs are available in two different colors.

Clear lens with white LEDs for white lighting when lit.
Amber lens with amber LEDS for amber lighting when lit.

If you are interested, here’s how the process works.

1. Contact me via email first to schedule an appointment. I would need an advance notice since I have to wait for the LEDs to be shipped to me. I do not have the LEDs in stock.
2. Wait for my reply for further instructions.
3. I will provide step-by-step detailed picture instructions of how to uninstall your side view mirrors (If this is for a 2004-2006 Toyota Solara).
4. Once payment and shipping arrangements have been made for your side view mirrors. I strongly recommend that you make every possible effort to have the side view mirrors to me by Thursday or Friday. This way I can have all weekend to work on your mirrors and return them to you on Monday.
5. Be sure to pack your mirrors well, because I do not want to receive broken mirrors. I’ve had customer’s ship me their mirrors wrapped in blankets. Also, it is in your best interest to purchase insurance when you ship the mirrors. If you ship via USPS, I would recommend insuring $400 because each mirror is $190 from the dealership.
6. Wait for my confirmation of your side view mirrors.
7. I will then custom install and prep (this will involve cutting/drilling) the LEDs to be installed in your stock/oem side view mirrors.
8. I will keep you updated on the status of your side view mirror project.
9. Once completed, I will record some video clips displaying the LEDs functionality in the side view mirrors. This will guarantee that they work properly prior to return shipment.
10. Please contact me once you receive and inspect your new Michael T’s Custom LED Turn Signal Side View Mirrors.
11. Follow the step-by-step instructions that are provided. The install should take approximately 30-45 minutes per side view mirrors. So, approximately 1hour and 30 minutes total is what it should take. Wiring will be the longest time constraint, but there are only two wires ground and hot.

Now it’s time to sit back and enjoy your new Michael T’s Custom LEDs Turn Signal Side View Mirrors.

I have nevered tried this on a Gen 1 side view mirror, but will definitely look into this. Who wants to be the first?

I will look at my buddy's Gen 1 and will update later.

Thanks again,
Michael

Are those the LED's that have adhesive on the bottom? They look good. I would like to have amber but with a clear look to it. I'm thinking about doing custom LED projects for the solara. I'm learning alot from hid.com.

Your mirrors are custom fabricated to fit the LEDs. These are not stuck onto the bottom of your mirrors. Try it and let me know if your LEDs will fall off due to heat or cold temp. Lol...I too tried to double side some to mine, and trust me, it didn't look right...heehee. It looked very funny :drinking:
