Greatest gas milage I got from my 2004 Solara 4 banger(auto)

Lol as I said... my average falls around 21mpg... Most of my travel is "city" driving on roads full of traffic lights or stop and go traffic... My CURRENT tank I'm averaging around 16mpg (I've been a bit of a nut with this one :-P). So it heavily depends on your driving!!

It's probably safe already. When I picked up my car at the dealership (new), the foreman's answer to that exact question was "you can fully enjoy the car from the beginning. The way these engines are built today, they don't really need a break-in period". I didn't push VERY hard, but I didn't hold back either. One positive is that it didn't mess up my transmission pattern. On my 2004 I followed religiously the break-in rules, and it trained the transmission to shift in granny mode. No such problem on my 2006.

I get around that same mileage on the highway cruising at about 70-80, anywhere between 35-38mpg with some high speed spurts in between.

Around the city/suburban area, lead footing gives me 22mph, granny driving about 27-30

The best mileage I've gotten so far has been 35 mpg...usually driving the interstate to and from work 32 mpg is the norm. The worse I've gotten has been 28 city/highway combined. Also...don't believe the dash display...mine is always more than doing the math. Overall I've very happy with my mileage. Where else can you have a car the size, style, and comfort as the Solara and get mileage like that.

this is the gas milage that I got driving my solara today.

I believe in the dash display because whether we calculate by hand or by looking at the dash display, there is always going to be a margin of error. No method is 100%.

I disagree with your statement. The math is a lot more accurate than the computer display. I don't see how you can argure with a given number of miles using a given number of fuel. Compare the math to your display and you will see a great distance. Yesterday I filled up...my display said I averaged 37.1 mpg...when I did the math I averaged 31.7 mpg. I believe the math. Each to their own but I believe you are living on false hopes. But what the hey...if you are happy with the car so what. :D
