Sun visor too short? not enough coverage?

Sun visor too short? not enough coverage?

Postby stockae92 » Fri Sep 30, 2005 12:54 pm

the sun visor is not long enough? that's right!

when the sun is coming in from the driver side, and i swing the sun visor and try to block the sun

without sun visor extension (like the ones in a 01 accord), there isn't enough coverage to block the sun?!

anybody has the same problem as i do? what to do?

I've never had a problem with sun-blocking coverage swinging it to the side. Perhaps you sit further back from the steering wheel than I do or have your seat tilted back more. I wondered why the visor extensions were dropped from Gen 1/1.5 to Gen2 but saw right away for me that they weren't needed in the Gen2 anymore.

I do miss a coin holder and foldable mirrors.

Actually I do have sun visor extensions on my car, for both driver and passenger side visors.

My '03 altima has sunvisors that has a plastic piece that extends if you need it. Sounds like this is what you wish Toyota did.

IIRC, my visors on the '05 have a rear sliding extension for just that purpose. Without looking at my car, I would think having to be able to clear the rear view mirror is the limiting factor for the visors' width; for the length, I don't know.

This critter, while somewhat inelegant, should solve your problem.

SPF0, your link isn't working. It seems that only convertibles of Gen2 have the extensions.

Funny, I think they are too long, on my convert if you flip the drivers side one down it wont clear the rear view mirror or fold all the way forward.
When in doubt gas it out, brakes just slow you down.

Let's try just going to mileskimball.com doing a search for "Extend A Visor"

Odd that you can't link to it directly.

so the convertables has the visor extension?

i guess we *could* buy the converstable visors to replace the coupe visors (assuming its a simple swap) -_-

Only a small section of the visor extends. I'm not sure it'd have enough height to do what you're looking for.
