My IN-Dash Screen

I just put in my screen from mp3playerstore.com

179 shipped from the website.

I snagged it from them in an Ebay auction for 138 shipped. Not a bad deal.

My buddies have them as well, they are good quality.

I use it for PS2, and Movies via the PS2. (Local shops did not have all the RCA wires I needed.)

No navigation. Before anyone asks.

Yeah.

Some friends have unit that cost 1400+. They may be crystal clear as they like to say, but your looking @ a screen the size of a paperback book. Not a big screen. Playing Madden or some game this is perfect. I have an DVD player that is rather bulky but is designed for a car. I am unsure if I want to put that under my seat yet or not.

Definitely a nice price for that unit, good deal. I'm one of those people who have a monitor / headunit that retails for $2300 (although I got mine for $800). There are many other differences included in that price gap, however... Someone would be foolish to pay $1400 for just an in-dash retractable screen (I've seen the Alpine TMI-M990, which is essentially an upgraded stand alone monitor version of my headunit, go for sub $700) so I assume your friends have DVD players and radio tuners included... along with possible NAV, etc... Screen size also compensates for a portion (I've seen a range of 4.5" to 7" in dash retractable screens)... There's also tuner quality (if included), screen quality / resolution (yes, it makes a difference... even in smaller screens), amount / type of inputs and expansion, etc...

That's a hell of a deal for an in dash screen though, there's just a bit more to the pricing differences than included in your last statement.

Install looks clean, fits nicely above the Pioneer. Enjoy it bro, there's nothing quite like road trips with your X Box or PS2 fired up and running in the dash :-)

nice screen, great price too. Does the sound work through your car speakers or the built in speaker?

Very nice deal. My Valor unit was $530 or so. Check out my cardomain for pics. Now I got me a Belkin cable to hook up my ipod in the rear aux-in of my unit. Cant wait till I'm done.

I was just checking ebay for dd units... is this the one you have?

http://cgi.ebay.com/VALOR-DDA-650W-DOUB ... dZViewItem

if it is, how's the video/audio quality? do you like this unit? I've never heard of this brand before so I've been iffy becaues I can't find reviews or anything on these. I was looking at the kenwood excelion series, but seeing that this is almost 1/2 its price, if it's compable or good enough for what I want i might just go with the valor. i don't really need nav, but it would just be a nice extra to have... mostly just want video and good sound. Oh yeah! when you play cd's what shows on your screen? does it play dvd-+ r/rw's?

It has a tiny speaker on the front of it. But I have it hooked up to my AUX on my HU.

Today I was listening to the news. I need to get the TV antenna to get a little bit better reception. I can see it but its fuzzy.

Deion...

Thats is the one I have. Check out this thread I posted a couple of weeks back, I think it will answer your questions:

http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=19956

My radio reception wasnt too great to begin with with my OE unit, and it does suffer a bit more with more with this unit. I got some adjustments to make still....and try to figure out how I'm gonna get the display function working again. Finally assembly of my complete a/v system should be done next week. Stay tuned for pics! :D :D
