Anyone know if it is available in .pdf format? If not, how much does it usually cost if I order it from the dealer? I need one because I want to try and find the wire leading to my "display" button and try to connect/ground it somwhere to get it working. DocJohn? JackassJeff? You guys know anything about it at all?

I believe it is available, but it's a couple dozen pdf files. The Toyota tech website has them for sure (I think it's about $11 for 1 day access, and you get access to all the techical information for all Toyota cars).

Mike, when he swapped his headunit he lost his display functionality (gas milage, avg gas milage, avg speed, etc...) so he's trying to figure out how to get it back... I did my install over a year ago and lost my functionality as well, but I was able to figure out how to get it back... I can't remember how though, so it would be nice to have those diagrams...

Yes exactly, both me, prodigy, and i think kgzero are having the same problem. So any diagram or DIY would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you ground the white wire with grey stripes?

Nah bro... I told you in another thread, I DO have it working... I installed my system in August of '04, however, so I just don't remember what I did to get it working. After I did my install it did stop working, but I was able to get it to work again the same day quite easily... I do remember that it's a very simple fix, but I don't remember what that fix was, and I've just been too busy to take stuff apart in my car to figure out what I did!! I'm gonna do it for your sake (and whoever else is having this problem), not mine... just gotta find the time to do it :-P

James, if you can do it within 2 weeks i'd greatly appreciate it, because thats when I plan on taking apart my dash for the aux-in cables for my ipod, the oe nav dash kit and other minor tweaks. It'd save me another painstaking process of dashboard removal. Thanks in advance bro. :-)

Whats up dvdchris45, yup I am one of those people with that problem.
I posted a topic on the aftermarket thread about the dash lights, and while I was doing that (I mean taking apart my dash) I noticed three wires that I think were for the steering wheel controls. I only saw three wires: blue, yellow, and a green with black stripe.
I don't think this really helps, but I just thought I should bring it up.

Was it green with black stripe or white? I'm almost 90% sure that the striped wire is the display control. Heres an idea idea kgzero. Try GROUNDING the striped wire and see if the display control responds. I think it just needs a ground for power. If that doesnt work then i dunno.....help? lol

It was a green wire with a black stripe going through it.
I was tempted to ground it last weekend, but I didn't know if that was the correct wire and I was afraid of frying something. I'll try this weekend if I have time.

Well, I grounded that wire and it did absolutely nothing. The button still doesn't work. Let me tell you that taking that damn pin out of the connector was a pain in the a$$! (I didn't want to splice the wire, which is why I took out the pin)
