I just put some 20's on my gen 2. tire size is 225/35/20 and sometimes when im driving the steering wheel vibrates but then once i hit around 50 or 60 mph it stops. i realize that my ride quality isnt gonna be what it was with the 17's cause im riding on tires with as much rubber as a condom, but would the 20's throw my alignment off? or anyone have an idea of what it is?

Your vibrations would be caused by wheel / tire balance issues; I'd make sure they spun balanced them properly (most places that do tire installs offer free balance and rotation for the life of the tires). Allignment could potentially cause vibrations as well (by wearing the tire oddly); however if you just had them installed that wouldn't be an issue, and having new wheels / tires put on would not effect your allignment (so your allignment should be fine unless it wasn't right before the installation). 20"s will definitely have a harsher (and generally louder) ride than factory 17"s, however they should not vibrate or cause allignment issues. One other thing to keep in mind is that tires are not flawless from the factory... and some tires will vibrate for a bit (or have excessive road noise) untill they begin to wear evenly.

From what your saying it sounds like they didn't isntall a hub centric ring. Most aftermartket rims have a wider center bore which needs the hub centric rings to hold the wheel in place and to be centered. If you dont have these you will get vibrations at varies speeds.

If that doesn't solve the problem then i would get the wheels rebalanced...
