OKay guys, I'm setting to buy a 2006 Camry Solara in 2 weeks! Yes, 2 weeeeks! I can't wait. The reason why in 2 weeks is because of the labor day sale weekend and hopefully they will have sales.

Anyways, my budget is $21 grand OUT THE DOOR...absolutely out the damn door. My parents won't budge and I'm paying for the down payment...

Anyways, I REALLY wanted the SE SPORT and LEATHER option combined!! But I was quoted $21,600 + tax. Thats gonna be 23 grand!!!

So my dad told me I MUST GIVE UP one option... either get SE standard and leather or get SE SPORT and give up leather!!

what do you guys think? Is the LEATHER really worth it? I sat it in and its REALLY nice...but I didn't sit in the regular seating.

thanks a bunch.

oh ya, i'm planning to buy at Longo Toyota, the biggest Toyota dealer down in Southern California.

I also DO NOT want to get a 2005 year because that has the 4 speed automatic... whereas the 2006 has the new 5 speed automatic.

At this point, it's easier to get A leather kit than THE sport kit... so my vote would be for the sport.

as far as i understand, the leather is not aviliable for SE trim from toyota, only for SLE. Most likely they just hired someone to install the aftermarket leather seat. what you can do is get the SE package, and add leather seat by yourself later. price is about $500-$800. another reason that you should get SE sports because the aero kit is hard to get.

The next day I bought my SE Sport I took the car to the shop, and for $600.00 they made my interiors in leather (same style, and color as the OEM). This was a lot cheaper than buying the body kit. The only other difference is the motorized driver's seat, and the climate controls. But Ithink the SE is more a deal than the sle

I'd go for the SE Sport... it has better suspension from the start (which is a huge improvement whether you drop the car later on or not), the body kit, and I personally prefer the sport gauges, peddles, and interior highlights to the SE or SLE gauges, peddles, and interior highlights... If you do decide on the SE or SLE the ONLY way you can currently get the body kit is if you are lucky enough to find the pieces on eBay or such unless you get the convertable; however, as others have mentioned, you can get aftermarket leather seat replacements that are just as good as factory and substantially cheaper than the Toyota leather upgrade if you get the car without...

Good luck!

I have an '04 SE Sport with the cloth seats. (It had a special "carbon fiber pattern" that you could only get in the SE Sport. (Not SE or SLE.) I think it looks great with the faux-carbon fiber trim on the dash and doors. So, my personal tastes, I'd skip the leather.

If it were an SLE with the wood trim, I'd go leather.

I concur with Phreakd, I love my SE Sport seats as are... they're also more durable than the standard cloth or the leather...

Thank you so much guys. Looks like I will go for the SE SPORT kit then. ANd I will ditch the leather and if i want it, I'll go after market.

I'm buying in 2 weeks! Labor day weekend, Sept 3rd!!

I hope I can get the 2006 Solara SE SPORT out the door for $21 grand... and yea, it'll have to be SE SPORT, not SLE and a i4.

I like the carbon fiber trim too...it comes standard on all '06 SE Sport now i believe.

Yup, the carbon fiber's always been the SE Sport trim with mild chrome accents, while the SE has had the "silver metallic" interior (basically all chromed out) and the SLE has had the faux wood.

Good luck bro, I think you should be able to pull the 4 banger SE Sport out the door for 21K... just don't go for the "paint protection", "rust protection" or any of that BS... The warranty may be of consideration at a later time (I've already put mine to use) but I don't think you're gonna be able to leave with it up front. Only thing about getting it up front is that you are able to finance it in your vehicle cost... Also, make sure that if you do go for the warranty you get them bottom it out... they start it at around $1400 - $1600 depending on where you go, but I got mine for $840 (it's all profit for them).

Have fun!!
