You may need to specify it as an .avi file to view it.

The Mazda forum I found it at is:

What kind of race was that? A turboed Mazda vs. a N/A Solara...I'd like to see a S/C Solara go up against him 8)

Download the file to your desktop and add an .avi extention to the end of the file.

For all we know, it could have been a 2az-fe with an automatic. Mighty kill! lol

The whole pissing contest thing is pretty silly, especially when you know NOTHING about the other car.

I raced a mazdaspeed protege like two months ago. I beat him by a half car length too. It was from a roll as well. He was crusing pass me messing around and i dropped my car in second and we both went. I thought i would have gotten my ass handed to me but i was quiet surprise that i took him. He rolled his window down at the next light and asked what i did to my car. I told him bone stock and his buddy in the passenger seat laughed at him. I thought that was hilarious. But as far as performance i dont know much about them.

Just looked up the specs on car point. A mazda speed does a 15.85 in the 1/4mile and has 170hp and 160 ft-lbs @ 3500rpm. I actually thought they would have been a bit faster. And im still a bit surprise i could take that one. He must have sucked at driving or something.

Good deal, we gotta keep those zoom zooms in place! A V6 Solara should def be able to take a Protege (even with a moderate turbo), but as others in this forum have mentioned the vid was not fair game... A 180hp turbo'd 2800lb car beating a 136hp 3400lb car isn't exactly something the dude should be bragging about :-P

I was able to take my friends V6 Mazda 6 pretty easily both off the line and from a 30mph roll... They weigh just about the same as us (a tad lighter) with 5hp less and 48FtLbs less torque than the Gen 2... not to mention they gotta rev up to 5000rpm just to see their torque (whereas we're cruisin at 3600rpm)!!

Yeah I dont think my solara could take a mazda 6 or the latest accord. Id just have to leave those for the gen2 and the trds.

Your manual 5 speed should be able to take out the auto gen2. I'm not positive, but after driving both stock I feel the gen2 is a bit slower.
