DEALER DEMO???

DEALER DEMO???

Postby FLUXEMAG » Tue Aug 09, 2005 4:15 pm

Ok, so my car is a 2005 SE Sport V6 Auto 5. Very nice car, had 45 miles on it when I bought it. It came from another dealer inside Phoenix AZ so it was delivered the next day.

The salesman showed me the specs on this car and I agreed it had all the options I wanted. The 45 miles didn't really raise a big red flag, and several pieces of documentation say NEW. But...one piece of paperwork says DEMO. I worked at a Jaguar dealer a few years ago, and the demo's had hundreds and sometimes thousands of miles on them.

My car is a 2005 that I bought in March 2005, so it was fairly old on the lot.

My question is: When you sell a car, does anything on it say DEMO? Do I need to indicate that and does it appear on the title? It certainly has a negative connotation in my mind. I could probably f^% a car up moderately in 45 miles if it were someone elses.

One more note, the salesman specifically said it is not a DEMO or used car. I plan to confront the fool. I pity the foo.

The only time the dealer is required to disclose something is if it was a previous rental, they are not required to tell you it was a demo... I bought my 2004 in march 2005! LOL It was one of the las ones they had, and they already had 2006's on the ground haha So technically my car was sitting on the lot as a brand new 2 year old solara HAHA how funny is that!
