bump on tire

bump on tire

Postby Shoe » Wed Aug 03, 2005 6:44 pm

I noticed on my driver side front tire there is a bump like a bruise on the side wall its about the size of a childs fist.

Is this dangerous? I would asume it has gotten week there and bulged out.

If so should my extra tire waranty on the ecp I got cover the tire as they state if the tire can not be repaired a new tire will be provided.

Yeah, a round bump on the sidewall usually means something separated inside the tire. It's pretty dangerous, and you need to take care of it fast. Did you hit something? It might be a tire defect. How old is the tire? I wouldn't drive around on it.

Better to replace the tire than to risk actual body work because the tire blew out on the highway causing you to slam into something.

I found the same thing on one of my winter tires on my Supra. YIKES!
