What Kind Of Wood Do I Have?

What Kind Of Wood Do I Have?

Postby SPF 0 » Sat Jul 23, 2005 1:29 pm

I'm trying to buy (online) an automatic shifter knob to match up to the "wood" that's in my '05 SLE. I was wondering if anyone knows what sort of wood it's trying to simulate (Burlwood, Zebrawood, etc.).

Perhaps I should rephrase the prior statement as I'm sure that someone somewhere knows what type of wood it's supposed to look like. I'm far more interested, however, in finding someone on this board who knows. :painting:

Also, I would like apologize for any upset or undue discomfort this topic title may have initially caused anyone.

Well, considering the parts guy at the dealership couldn't answer, it's not surprising no one here is able to either.

BTW, is it me or do more than a fair number number of guys who work in dealership part department seem a bit dim?

They're not exactly car aficionados I say. Just regular people like you and me hired to work and just like anything else you learn from the right and wrong in your field of work. Some are dumb as bricks, some make and effort to learn and do well. My dealership trips have been hit-or-miss.

Chris, there's a guy @NoHo Toyota named Rafael (Rafa). He's pretty good with OEM and aftermarket parts. He's in his 20's and has a slightly modded Celica. I noticed he's made an effort to support the aftermarket parts in their parts dept. I usually check with him on parts and prices before I surf the web, just to get an idea on markup and such.

Thanks for the reference Astro! I'll be sure to ask for him when I resume modding my ride!
