I cant seem to get to the rear speakers to unscrew them and take them out. Is there a certain way to go about this or what? Do I have to take the whole hatch cover off or what? And if so How do you do that? thanks

It's for a gen3 camry, but same principal.

This is for a gen4 camry.

It's not fun, but not incredibly difficult either.

Slightly off topic:Have you changed your front's yet?

You dont have to take out the rear seat.

Its still a pain in the rear though.

Start by removing the FRONT seatbelts and REAR oh sh*t handles.

Then I think you take off the rear interor top quarterpanel, fold the seats down, and take out the baby seat hooks. Unfasten some buckles to take off the rear shelf with the speaker grills and the speakers drop in from the top. Rear seat can stay in.

There might be a few steps in between I forgot, I did this about a year ago.

yeah, and be prepared if you dont have any mounting brackets or anything, the stock speakers have 3 screws, not 4, so you may have to do some drilling.

At least I had to

I have infinity kappas in front, rear and trunk. It sucks so much to get back there. For all the trouble it was, I regret upgrading my rear 6x9's because they are just fill speakers. I have a sub to handle all the low end so my soundstage (and I think this is the best sounding setup with the best stereo imaging) is way biased towards the front speakers with the rear tweets disconnected (in essence, a low pass filter). Since the fronts are doing the majority of the work now with the sub handling the loud bass, I should have just saved time and money and kept the stock 6x9's.
