No ragtops. Any chance you have an inside line on what the real weight of the conv. is? They used the same door sill sticker. (as if)

Shall we start a roll cage mod for you? LOL!

I've seen several numbers online for the curb weight of the V-6 convertible and coupe. But I don't have anything "official." yet. On average, the numbers are a little over 3400 lbs for the convt and the coupe around 3300lbs.

General rule of thumb from my old drag racing days is that for cars around our size, shaving 100lbs is like gaining 10hp.

The sticker in the door jamb is for DOT, NHTSA and EPA classifications.

If you're really dying for accurate information, there's another option. Look for a Farmer's Coop or "Farm and Fleet", you'd probably have to drive to Rockford to find one :-) , they usually have a scale in back for weighing crops brought to market. I used to take my Chevelle to one to get actual curb weight. Some will measure at each corner with a vehicle scale that looks like it came from the bathroom. I personally find taking it to the coop easier to do with less risk of error.

Alright, I searched and the only intakes available for the 4 bangers are the ones for gen 1 and 1.5. Damn!

I'm fairly certain the SRI for the Scion tC will work on the 4cyl Camry / Solara. Of course the CAI will not.

Murphy's law, I can not seem to come up with that part number. If I find it, I'll post it.

^^^ Then I think you're all set w/ the 3.5". (You forgot one... w/o the chip a 3.5" sets CELs.)
Preorder info promised for this week. I'm tapping them tonight just to be a pest. We're more important than the Altima dammit!

EDIT:
Just talked to Josh and he's going to bug his partner for the dyno images. Hope to have them tonight. His graphics folks are backed up so the pre-order will be informal, no CC info. I'm going to gather names and contact data so they can make a mailing list and let you all know when you can order on the web. Even then they don't charge 'til it ships. I'll post the video of the test runs tonight in whatever state it's in (along with the dyno's if I get them.) I was promised a price with the dyno's so I figure I should start a preorder list until that's in. Right?

Please don't get on the list unless you're serious. I want cpe to like doing stuff for us so they'll do headers. They're taking the Mazda 6s in for that today and I want the 3.3 Solara to be next. Inventory=Death in the manufacturing world.

Thank you all for your patience with the results trickle over the past week.

I'm almost certianly going to buy the cp-e intake, but I (and I'm sure a few other folks) would like to know approximately what we're looking at in terms of cost for this mod before we add our names to the list. Especially now since the Injen Gen 2 V6 pipe is on the market for about $212. (Yes, I know the cp-e intake is probably better, its definitely a better built pipe from a materials and fabrication standpoint)

Yeah... I know. The CPE guys are going to learn a lesson about business the hard way. I told them that the Injen is out there now and that we still have no price, dynos, expected manufacture date, etc. If they don't come through today after that note... what can I say? One email with a Dyno image and a price shouldn't take over a week, I agree.

<edit> Just got the answer as to why so long. They won't release official numbers without having all three guys there to crunch the dyno numbers. One guy was out for header work in NY.

My rec. is to be the critical consumer. From the folks that have seen it, cp-e is better quality, bigger pipe, higher price, and I'll get independant evidence of the power. Injen is easier on the wallet and available now.

If you're into polished, that's only Injen. If you're broke, choice made. Otherwise, I'd wait for the cards to fall but that's me. I'll shut up now until I have the goods from the shop.

Yup... that got things rolling. Got a call from the shop and they crunched all the numbers last night. Sending info now so I'll post it up tonight with a full review.
Nutshell, avg 10HP all above stock, major torque improvement, and price is $492. So don't send off the $200 just yet.
