Wish list of features or options for the new Solara

Head Room

Postby OceanLake » Fri Oct 24, 2003 3:47 pm

Yes. If the seat were up any, we wouldn't fit at all. Beyond that issue, We live in a climate that seldom calls for a sunroof to be open. It's an option we don't need or want. Have another vehicle with that feature, adn we use it maybe once a year.

Why Toyota chosse to be inflexible with this particuar feature is beyond me.

Anyway, thanks for question. Part of the problem is that we don't lounge back when driving. If we did, that would give us maybe 1.5" of head room.

Since 2006's are now selling, have you priced used loaded 2004's? They are now two years old and possibly affordable by you.

The GEN2 V6 doesn't come with a manual transmission option. And 2004's are less than 20K for sure.

Maybe Hybrid engine? First ever Hybrid engine sports car? Accord Hybrid Sedan has 255HP, 37mpg in highway and 29mpg in city.

Here's my wish list:

1) 3.5L V-6 with dual VVT-i (Avalon Engine)
2) AWD sport model.
3) Factory 18" wheels
4) Electronic Ride Control (Three position adjustable from driver's seat)
5) Again, heated steering wheel would be great
6) Some involvement from TRD on a special package Solara. (13" brembos, dual exhaust, suspension mods, TRD seats by Sparco, factory supercharger and cold air intake)
7) Power floormats (Just kidding)
8.) Improved TBW and transmission responsiveness
9) A good place to put a cell phone on the center console
10) Some paint colors that are available to Scion. (Metallic Orange)
11) cs144 had it: The Hybrid setup like Lexus used on the RX400h. (Improved performance with great mileage)

Here's my list-

1- HID If my 03 Celica could have it stock, why cant my SLE?
2- Nav with cd changer/blue tooth technology
3- Heated steering wheel
4- Button on steering wheel to control "voice activation" of Nav
5- Dual exhaust
6- Heads up display- Not sure if any Toyota vehicles have this or not, but it displays the speed, radio and compass directon on your windshield.
7- Seats that return to where they were when you flip them forward to crawl in the back seat, instead of staying as far forward as they can.
8- Seperated cup holders- then I could put my cell fone in it without it rolling around
9- Windshield wipers that you can just "bump" the switch up or down to make them pass across 1 time, without having to turn them on and then off right away.
10- Back up camera that works with NAV. This car is very hard to see where backing- not much light. (Guess it could just be me- Other car is a Grand Am with 4 reverse lights in back)

Thats bout all- I like my car, but it would be lots nicer if it had some of the above listed options.

HVAC display - lit by fibre optics or LED. The LCD is impossible to see when the sun is shining on the display.

A 6-speed would be friggin' awesome (like you can get with accord V6) but I would be happy with a 5-speed...
