elmhurst TOYOTA, IL meet 7/10/2005 (update 06/03/2005)

I'm not really sure when it starts. I'll probably sleep in their lot so I can get there on time. (Just kidding)

Anyone else who went last year know the start time?

You can pitch a tent at the forest preserve. jk. I'll give them a call when it's closer to see if they have info yet.

Got mine... To anyone thinking about going, an email gets you "Preregistered" meaning you save $2 if you go. That's damn near a gallon of gas! And if you don't go, no loss.

I brought my solara at Elmhurst Toyota, and I lived in Elmhurst for the last 4 years, but I have never realized that there is a meet like that...........
I have be mod my Solara for the first 2 years, then settle down, then 3 months ago has a accident, now, I need the Octane bumper, a good paint job, and a carbon fiber hood before I let her go on the street again....
Hope to see you all next month..........

I live about 5 big minutes away from that forest preserve....if you guys can hook me up a good VIS Octane bumper, VIS carbon fiber hook, good but cheap paint job and full installation for my damaged solara....I will go over there and take a look at their parking lot and see it can handle 10 plus Solara/camry there.......(just kidding)

I can swing by there after work today......however, just to let everyone know, forest preserve party, private meeting or whatever function more then 4 ppl required a permit.......so, Addison police can kick us out anytime if anyone complaint about us Solara ppl made their HONDAHHHH looks stupid..............just to let everyone know.

I did a scouting run and found a better pre-meet rally point. The Forest Preserve has 18 parking spaces and on a Saturday, they'll be full no doubt. Here's the proposal:

Down the road, there is a huge lot for the Odeon Sports & Expo center. I checked the schedule and there's nothing for that day. We should be able to gather in the northmost point of the lot. Good photo op with the forest as a backdrop too. Nice easy 2.5 miles all right turns to the meet. So we can roll in en masse. SG Attack!

For the full size, use this link. http://home.comcast.net/~mcivello/Image ... oyMeet.jpg

You can see in this one that to get there you...
- come off highway 290 (E or W) on 83 S exit.
- Right (W) on 64 (second light).
- Right (N) at the first light (Villa). Easy.

Any objections? Someone pick a time.
[edit]
Even found a pic of the lot. The lot is empty and clear of any dirt tracks and Porshe SUVs. Meet at the top of the pic where the trailers are parked.

That is ODEUM.......a sport stadium for private use.......you sure they will let you do a meet there...? Again, it is a private space and parking lot.......I usually go there to run my 1/8th scale RC gas car....and the ppl usually are nice and ask to make sure I was not there to dumps garbage or stealing things.........and some time, Laurel Merc/BMW like to rent that space to store their inventory, full of Bimmer and Merc....

That will be a good place for meet, but agian, without informing ODEUM, I don't think you can park there more then 5 minutes....(everytime I run there I was asked by their manager or so....so we will be asked this time with the Solaras).

Far corner of an empty lot... Can't imagine they'd have an issue. Can't imagine there would be people to care. We're only gathering there for a bit until it's time to hit the show. But I'll call them and make sure they don't have something going on that day. If it's shut down for the day there won't be anyone to have an issue. If they sound cool maybe I'll ask to use their lot for an hour on that Sunday.

By the way, welcome to the SG forum!

A few of us are heading in on Saturday. I don't think anything has been organized officially. I was planning on hooking up with one of the other members.

I definately would plan to stay the night. I'd love to see all of get together the night before and meet for dinner somewhere. (Just a thought)

Does this sound interesting to anyone? What are all of your thoughts?
