Well all i heard was kadonk kadonk kadonk underneath my car... I was going around 30-40mph. Is there any damage I should be concerned about? What should I check for ? Thanks guys

If anything mechanical, I'd say the front sway-bar (if its bent). The control arm linkage in the suspenion. Or even the brake or fuel lines if there bent or kinked.

If you don't mind getting dirt on your knees, then the way to check would be to turn the steering wheel to the point where u can see the FSB for damages. The Fuel lines (that might be in the area of impact) you'll need to place on ramps or jack the car up (with of course chalked back wheels to keep from rolling (use big enough piece of wood)). The worry would be just to check if there is any gas leaks. Hopefully not.

If your driving, then check if your hearing any kind of baming, clunking, grinding noises or clanging from any of the areas of the front end (make sure the radio and AC/ climate control s turned off). The second area of concern would be to listen for noise when your turning the steering wheel (this is to check if CV-boot joint is still good-other wise if there is grinding sounds the joint could be damaged)

If your steering and brakes work fine (if there is no fluid leaks-gas or brake fluid), then yes its safe to drive...

That sucks, I had a similar experience a while back (had a huge piece of engine in the middle of the freeway, went over it at like 65MPH). For me, the car was already acting funny after I ran that stuff over (the engine made weird noises and didn't run right). So, I took it to the dealer to have it looked at. I had damage to the headers, suspension, muffler and some other stuff under there. I think if the car runs OK, maybe you should take it to a dealer or someone to take a good look at the underside of the car.

yeah man, take it to a shop and have it inspected... do not risk it. If some major damage was done, i think ur insurance could cover it under your comprehensive coverage. I've used my insurance for when my car was keyed (all the way around - bastards), and recently when a rock chipped my windshield. (all i pay is my deductible which is $50 :D) and it doesnt increase my premium. Of course, I dont know what type of insurance you have but it wouldnt hurt to call them and ask.
