k&n filter makes difference

Postby dirtybird_1 » Sat May 21, 2005 8:43 pm

once you remove the stupid restrictor filter in the intake box and add the K&N filter , you will notice a difference. not huge, but every bit helps. i got mine about four months ago and for 50 bucks, i feel it was really worth it.

Get K&N air filter. I got one from Advance Auto Parts. I also removed the acoustic dampener/secondary air filter from the air box. I can feel the difference.

I can vouch for the TRD air filter being quality bro. In my opinion, you can't go wrong either way. They both cost right around the same amount ($35-$45 depending on where you look, probably cheaper on eBay), they are both 50k mile guaranteed, and they are both MUCH less restrictive and MUCH higher quality air filters than the other available brands... I had a K&N in my Celica and loved it, now I have the TRD in my Solara with the vacuum tube trick and the sound dampener removed and it's great as well. The cleaning solutions (filter oils) are nearly identical... Find the best price and go for one of them though!

Filter

Postby ~Spadwaller~ » Sun Jun 26, 2005 1:27 pm

I got 2 K&N filters the cheap paper air filters I used warped. I bought one for 50 bucks at the @utoZone and one other at Kr@gen for when I have to clean the dirty filter (the kr@gen one came with the cleaning products for free for the same price) 8)
