I agree. Let's start a list of projector headlight manufacturers and once we have compiled a large list, we can contact each one with our petition showing how many buyers we have waiting. What do you all think?

All,

I search the net and identifed 8 companies that make the type of light we desire. I've e-mailed each of them and provided them my home phone number should they want to call me.

Lets see what happens.

LOL, I thought you were posting this because you found a company to do it but wanted to gather support/interest interest... The way group buys usually work is someone is interested in something, they find a company that is willing to make it if you have X number of people willing to buy, then yo get people to sign up. I talked to SONAR or Symmic (I forget?) about this and said we could get a group buy going, their response was, "Could we get around 2,500 orders?". They said otherwise, it would never come close to what would be needed to pay for the setup of the machine to make them. They felt that we represented a very specialized group and there wouldn't be enough demand from the general population. I also think it's funny that everyone wants something slightly different. I think we're kidding ourselves if we think they will make 5 different lights. I think we'll be doing good to get someone to make simply chrome or black halogen projectors. HID will add to the cost and there will be less people that will buy. Not necessarily out of our group but the population in general. -Joeb

I have an idea! How about everyone cruise the Toyota forms (i.e. toyotanation.com) and get more people to sign up so we can get at least, gulp, 2,500 people? Same for the spoiler!

Also, shouldn't we choose a housing for the light if this is going to happen? I say black!

I think if we got 50+ in one week's time on this one message board... then surely they would sell 2,500 in the course of a year... especially after they distribute to all of their dealers and word starts to spread.

I just don't get why they make projectors for crappy Ford Rangers, Ford Escapes, Dodge Neons, and Chevy Cavaliers, but not for Solaras!

You would think that we could out sell any of those cars... if they would just give us a chance. Even the Corolla has projectors! :(

Everything seems backwards... they make all of the best parts for the low end cars and make nothing for the high end cars. I don't get it.

Hummm,

Well the folks I spoke with wouldn't even talk about making a light until they knew the number of possible customers for a group buy. If some one knows how to make this happen, I'm all ears and eyes..
