Rims offset concern

Ok guys

I'm new here, and read a lot of the post about the wheels and I found interesting stuff. Im preparing myself to get a 2005 black Solara V6 SE with sport package.But I still wonder if my set would fit well. My wonderings are about the offset thing...I don't want any rubs problem. I specify that I will use TRD lowering spring. So these are the data...which would fit the better the car and the tires ?

Stock rims do weigh A LOT... I was moving my stock rims and each rim weighs as much as 2 of my Volks... x_x

Offset is measure from the middle of the rim... so rim width will change offset requirements.

an 8 Inch wide rim will get measure 4 inches from the inner lip. After the 4 inches, then you go off xx millimeters to get the offset. +38 is 4inches + 38 mm from the inner lip.

18x8.5 +38 sounds like it willl fit... but I'd advise you to remove a rim, measure the distance from the wheel hub out to the fender and see how much it is. Then convert that measure to how many inches it is, and how many MM. Then you can find the perfect size to get the flush fit =D

225 45 R18 might rub. Most people w/ 18s that use a 225 width use a 40 sidewall ratio. Smaller sidewall = worse ride quality. So do it at your own risk =D

Best choice would be then, after some calculations...
18x7.5 5-114.3 43
starting from middle of the rim to front (including offset)
18X8.5 38mm offset giving me 5.746062992 Inch
18X7.5 43mm offset giving me 5.442913386 Inch
Giving me 0.3 Inch free and I confirmed that the tire is made for the rim and I keep at 99% the total height of stock rim and tire.

So I can say Im set !
