Cure: The cure is to pick one mod to focus on until it's done.

AMEN to that LOL that's me all the way... Seriously though, I'm comprising a list of everything i WILL be doing to my car, first will probably be the trd lowering springs (I'm gonna try and pick those up next week when I get paid, I can have nick, a tech at my work who I've known for years, put them on for me) then the grille for sure, then most likely a stereo upgrade, then last but not least, when and if I switch jobs to the local toyota dealer that sells 350+ yotas a month, Ima get some 20in lorenzo LO1's 8) that's right baby, you best be expectin some big things from me...

Lowering springs first before RSB? You'll probably need the SE Sport's struts first as your struts won't be firm enough for those lowering springs (read past posting by an SLE driver-I'm assuming your struts are similar to that). I'd get RSB first. Has anyone else with just an SE gotten lowering springs and are they fine with the stock struts?

I say do whatever you want to do. Personally I like the idea of just changing Solara to Soarer and leaving the others the same, but that's just my opinion. As long as you're not puting BMW symbols on an import it's cool with me (saw BMW emblem on a Nissan Sentra once). Ahh hell what do I know I still have all my stock emblems on....lol...

Totally off topic: Chris... your ride looks clutch in that pic! If the red looked like that in all light I would have gone with that! (and those 20s are sic!)

LOL

Postby JayDubz » Tue May 17, 2005 9:52 am

Bleh LOL... I know lexus emblems will look fresh on a solara... If everyone despises the look Ill be the first.. And I wouldnt be tryin to achieve the soarer look or anything.. my whole reason for changing bades is to represted the luxury and class of a lexus in my toyota... its more of a status of luxury being rained down upon my overlooked luxury of a toyota...
Its more of a standing then trying to mock something that I it is not..

In japan they both lexus and toyota share the toyota emblem so why can i can use the lexus emblem on a toyota???

lol its not like im puttin bmw on a benz,,, ford on a chevy or maybach on a saturn... i mean whats the big deal.. seems more of a Im mad at you because you have emblems that didnt come with your car type of attitude... LOL

Anyways just my 2 cents...

LOL proably gonna get flammed :agrue: for this post.. ahh well.. keep the forums alive that way :-) :P 8)

And for the off topic.. Why was my thread about lexus emblems deleted.. but this one lives?? I made almost the same exact post on may 5th.. LOL makes no sense....

The Japanese Domestic vehicles that are badged Toyota aren't as Luxurious as the Lexus line. They don't have all the refinements as found in the USDM Lexus variation of the JDM Toyota line up.

If you want to make the arguement that you can badge your Toyota a Lexus because TMS does it, then you'll have to think again. It's only done with a Japanese car w/ a big L symbol on it. Your car is North American -ONLY-.

Lexus is being launched in Japan this August ( www.lexus.jp ) so only hardcore old school fans can badge their Gen 1 IS and Gen 2 and prior GS as a Toyota. The Japanese Lexus set will consist of the upcoming 2nd Gen IS series (250/350) and 3rd Gen GS series (350/430/450h) with more models to come as each Toyota design hits the next generation.

You cannot compare the Solara's luxury features to that of a Lexus. Go compare your Solara to the equal model year ES 330 and you'll see. While having a superior ride quality, it also offers slightly better handling.

But hey, to each his own. The Solara (obviously) has styling queues from the Lexus SC aka Toyota Soarer. Justifying your taste is pointless... you'll still get flamed =P

Ya... the Lexus badge on a Solara WILL fool a lot of people (worked for this one guy w/ a Gen 1 since SCs aren't as common as they used to be) but the Gen 2 Lexus SC (actually 3rd or 4th Gen Toyota) is quite common now. Plus you guys can't take off your rear Toyota badge (it has the holes in the trunk like Honda, or so I've heard)

"In japan they both lexus and toyota share the toyota emblem so why can i can use the lexus emblem on a toyota??? " - You're not TMS, America.

"my whole reason for changing bades is to represted the luxury and class of a lexus in my toyota" - The mindsets of a Toyota owner and Lexus owner are quite different... You can also determine what other luxury car brands these people have owned just by their reactions to certain situations. Lexus isn't entirely about the product, it's about the experience. Lexus Loan cars, business lounge, kids entertainment area, maintenance requirement reminders, personalized services, at-home services (some dealers), flatbed services, people that get to know you...

"seems more of a Im mad at you because you have emblems that didnt come with your car type of attitude..." - It seems you're mad at yourself for not having the L emblem and just have the T on it. ;)

You all obviously know you can do what you want... but you're just posting to get attention =P As you said, "LOL proably gonna get flammed #Bad Talk for this post.. ahh well.. keep the forums alive that way"

Thanks for keeping the forum alive =D

PS: By the way, the most easily comparable Toyota and Lexus model avail. in the USA... the Land Cruiser/LX 470. Test drive both. There's about $13K+ difference in price... but you'll see why the LX is the better deal.
1GR-FE ftw!

I think I will leave toyota emblems, and just make solara to soarer, and put the griffon on the front after I get michael t's grill, so I'll still be true to my toyota roots

If you want I can send pics of mine, it was debaged a while ago so you can think about it. The Toyota emblem and the "Solara" are riveted in, keep that in mind before attempting to just pull them off.
