Custom aluminum pedal set from Ultimate Pedals
Here’s a first look at the prototype set of 3 TRUE custom aluminum alloy pedals for the auto transmission Gen 2 Solara made by Ultimate Pedals. http://www.ultimatepedals.com
Rob Baylor at Ultimate Pedals was just great and very helpful in working with me in prototyping these pedals. I patterned the brake and gas pedal shape and size after the OBX pedals that are standard on the SE model. The dead pedal (footrest) is patterned after the stock crappy plastic dead pedal Toyota used in our cars.
As I said, these are truly custom pedals in all respects. You have your choice of 4 finishes (mine are the “Frosted Anti-slip”). You can also have custom engraving on any of the pedals. I have “Solara” engraved on the brake pedal. You can also get “Toyota” or the Toyota “cowboy hat” logo engraved as well. You can also get a different shape gas pedal. This pedal for the Toyota Highlander will also fit the Gen 2 Solara:

Installation was somewhat more difficult than I anticipated and took about 1.5 hours. The dead pedal (footrest) was very easy. The brake pedal was moderately difficulty, and the gas pedal was even tougher. But I will post DIY instructions for installation soon so you can benefit from my prototype installation efforts.
IMO, these pedals are vastly superior to the OBX pedals and anything else out there in both looks and quality. Now the bad news... they don’t come cheap. You’re looking at around $120 to $200 for the set of 3 pedals depending upon your choice of finish and any optional engraving(s).
Rob said he would be willing to give us a group buy discount price but I haven’t worked out the details with him yet. PM me if you’re interested and I’ll start keeping a list of interested owners.
