Front License Plate

Anyone have any suggestions for a bracket or frame for the front license plate? I hate have the plate just hanging there on the front bumper.

Yeah.. i was actually looking at some TRD license frames but threw that idea out the window because the ones they were selling were made out of plastic. SO this is what i went with.

Its kind of pricey but its still better than having none at all.
Plus i was planning to stick a TRD emblem on them. Ill post pics whenever i get them.

Anyway, the chrome frame is not part of the bracket.

I'm going nekked, I don't have a plate on the front, only on the back... Was gonna put the trd bolts in the two holes up front, but for now I just have screws in there... Doesn't look bad, I just think a plate in the front breaks up the lines of the car, it bothers me...

No, it does not come with all cars. Most, if not all of us, had to order it from the dealer. IIRC, it was under $15.

I'm curious as to whether dealerships in other cities are providing this front license bracket.

In Texas, we're supposed to  have a front license plate, but the factory ships the Solara without one. Rather than spend a few dollars to add this bracket, ALL the dealerships I've seen in the Dallas area just screw a cheap frame onto the front of the bumper (with their name on it, mind you). When I picked up mine, the technician didn't even center it properly.

What results looks like crap. the flat frame doesn't fit the curved bumper and bows backward, there are exposed screws, etc. Worse, I can't take it off and run with the bumper naked now, (as some try to do here in Texas), because there's two holes in the bumper that makes it look like I ran into the back of Hsakuragi's spiked license plate. (http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=19752)

I just ordered and received the necessary front bracket from a local dealership, and spent a whopping $8.25 for the bracket. I'm just surprised that no dealerships spend the extra $10 to finish the car off clean.

Are there any cities out there (with mandatory front plate laws) where dealerships are routinely installing this bracket?
