2006 SLE Convertible

I got my 2006 SLE convertible last monday. While looking on the web for aftermarkent products I came across this site. This site is awesome. Keep up the good work. I was curious to know if the 2005 and 2006 were pretty much the same. I can't seem to find anybody talking about the 2006 model and there are a few things I am interested in.

Thanks....

Yup... the convertibles didn't start producing in KY until March 2004. They ran the '04s and then about June/July, they changed the VINS and started calling them '05s. I doubt they even stopped the production line. The only difference I've seen for the '06 is that you get some things standard on the SLE that I had to pay for. Also the '06 SE has some options (power lumbar) that wasn't available in the '04.

Thus so far it's just G2, regardless of the year. It all applies.

There shouldn't be any major differences, did you get the windscreen? I'm curious to know if it is an option or not. Congrats on the new ride! Post up in the Introductions!!

thanks for the replies. no i did not get the windscreen. it is an additional option. i didn't think it was worth the money. if i remember, they were asking 300.00 for it. i could be mistaken though. i ordered the car about a month ago. the biggest thing i saw a need for the windscreen is for the annoying rear seat belt slapping when the top is down. i have purchased two shoulder belt pads for 3.00 a piece and they work like a charm.

Postby michaels artic frost » Mon May 02, 2005 11:14 am

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay. They had an '06 drop top in the show room locally, but I didn't get a chance to check it out...I was in a hurry.

Mods/upgrades for your car? Any pics?

Well, at least it's an option now. I installed
Junest windscreen recently and this weekend she finally took a drive on the freeway with the top down and windscreen on. Let's see if she chimes in and gives her opinion. I agree that it's not worth $300, but we got it for much less. :D So, the shoulder pads keep the belts from flapping around? With that and buckling them up, it should keep them stable.

Hope to see some pics up soon!

If you don't have frequent passengers in the rear, just tuck them...
I did it day-one and haven't heard a flap or touched them in over a year.
