Dome light wire color?

Dome light wire color?

Postby michaels artic frost » Tue Apr 26, 2005 5:58 am

I haven't had a chance to look into this much. Just thought I'd ask and see if anyone of you guys would know the dome light wire color. I need to know what harness it's located with (driver/passenger side).

I popped the dome light cover off and checked to see the wire color, but there's so many colors and harnesses on the passenger and driver side, don't really know which is which.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Michael:
I'm on this one. I will check the wiring diagram manual tonight and post the answers.

Looks like I'm too late but here it is anyway... According to the wiring diagram for the dome light:
the solid red wire is hot (+)
the white and black wire is ground (-) (“on”)
the green and red wire is the (“door”) switched ground (-)

The wires run from the dome light to the left (driver’s) side of the roof, then along the extreme left side of the roof (closet to the door), then down the left “A” pillar.

I hopes this helps. If you need more info, just let me know.

Thanks for the help last night DocJohn. Unfortunately, going the route we discussed is not too safe as I found out from experience...heehee

Going to go with two 5 terminal relays and a switch so I can control it as well.

I'll keep you guys posted.
