I just called my Research & Development contact at Energy Suspension about the release of these bushings. All of the development work is done for these. He said he will probably release them as a kit with the motor mount along with the dogbone. Before they get released, you need to CALL AND REQUEST. He said if they never get any calls for them, they'll never get released. That's why the rear motor mount isn't available yet. Everyone that is interested, please call them and ask for them. Don't just wait for everyone else or nobody will see them. With the combination of the Energy Suspension urethane rear motor mount bushing, dogbone bushings and Jim's torque rod, my engine is VERY steady. The difference is amazing. Call Energy Suspension at (949)361-3935. -JoeB

They are still on order. I really like Energy Suspension's polyurethane though. Plus I really like the way they split the bushings to make an easier install. I've never tried Superpro, they are probably fine and if there is no otther solution, they're GREAT. Energy Suspension is a US company and sells through places like Autozone, Kragen and Summit Racing so you can get parts very easy. -JoeB

I want to know the price too. If it's not too expensive and install is easy according to you than I'll buy it.

The only hard part of this is getting the old rubber bushing removed from the dogbone. You'll need a press to get it out. I don't know a cost for the bushings yet. It isn't even a formal product yet. It seems many people are affraid to use their telephone... Either people don't really underastand what I'm saying, what a benefit this is or they are affraid to call ES. My bet is most people don't like to make the call. Either affraid to sound stupid or just don't want to take the time. I kind of understand I guess, my wife is the same way. I always say, "just call them and talk to them", she never will. Push them like you want them to build someting for you that doesn't exist! Don't give up, don't take no for an answer! Point out to them the Solara on top of 2 different racing circuits as well as the Street Glow Solaras. Come on!!!!!!!

You ever wonder why you can't find any after market parts for your car? This is why! There is nobody that wants them. Or at least nobody calls the vendors and requests the parts! Am I on a rant? Hell yeah! If we want vendors to make products for our cars, we have to let them know there is demand for the product. If you don't call, they see me as a unique individual (read - crazy) that wants to build a Solara. If you don't take intitiative and call, they'll never make parts and I'm not just talking about ES, I'm talking about many vendors. Lets take advantage of having a user's forum and work together! Everyone call and ask for these that is interested. Trust me, there are many people that will wait on the sidelines for it to become a product and have all of the work removed for them, be part of making it happen and just make the call.

Trust me, when you call, they will say they don't know what you are talking about and give you the run-around. Push it! Transfer to the customer service department. If they don't take you seriously, ask for the R&D department. Keep going until someone listens. They would gladly let you just hang up, it's less work for them. Trust me, eventually someone will listen, they already made the part and that is about 1/2 of the total cost. I'm not just talking about this part or company either, make it a practice for anything you want and tel others! I'm just trying to help others, I already have mine and love them! -JoeB

I just got off the phone with Steve who is head of R&D at Energy Suspension. He told me that Bill is his guy for development of the rear motor mount and dog bone bushings for our car. He has instructed Bill to put these items on the TOP of his list.

Steve indicated that it would take them 3 to 4 weeks to have the parts made, get through their marketing office and have a part number identified. He will call me back, I am sure I will call him first, when the assigned part number is available.

As JoeB said earlier, give the guy a call and reinforce what we have already told him. Hell he seems like a great person.

Follow-up call made this morning. Steve is hard man to catch up with..

I called global Performance this morning and they told me that the Bushings for the dogbone aren't going to arrive until June. Has anyone here put the Jeep bushing to replace the front shock?

I'm going to call and cancel my order. The Jeep bushing isn't to replace the front shock. The front shoch is replaced by the torque rod that Jim @ Foreign Affairs put together. The Jeep motor mount can somehow be made to replace the front motor mount. We'd have to find out how from EricSol, he's the only one that's done it as far as I know. I bought one but it looks like you'd need to fabricate a solid bracket to get it to fit. -JoeB

*EDIT* I just talked to the North American distributer and he said it will not take until June to get these. There was a mixup on the order. He ordered the 1348 and got 1384. At least the box said 1384, he said he'd check on them on Monday to see if by chance only the box is labeled incorrectly. He said even if it is wrong, it won't take but a few weeks to get the correct parts in and distributed. -JoeB

Great news! I got a call from Glenn at Global Performance. He said he does have the correct parts. Although the outside of the box was labled incorrectly, the correct parts are inside. He thought to check that on Friday when I cought him on his cell phone after he had left work. He said that he has never had a problem ordering parts or a parts mix-up from Superpro. So everyone that placed an order will have their parts soon. For those that didn't and want them, I think he stocked a few extra, not sure how many though. -JoeB

The Superpro bushings for the dogbone came in today as stated. They look nice but are the wrong size. The small bush is correct but the larger 1 is too small. When I got the bushings from Energy Suspension to do the beta test, he sent 3 sizes, not sure which would be correct. The one I didn't use is the same size as the larger one in the Superpro kit. The other thing is, they are 1 complete bush so they will need to be pressed into the dogbone unlike the Energy Suspension bushings which come in 2 halves. Additionally, they didn't come with a large washer to help support the large bush. When the bolt goes up against the metal collar in the center, it would be possible for the bush to slip outside the bolt. To prevent that, ES included a large washer to support the urethane part. Easily fixed though by simply picking up a very large washer. -JoeB

*EDIT* If you ordered these, please check to make sure they are the right size for your vehicle before pressing out the old rubber which will probably destroy it. It may be that these are for the Gen3 Camry and different than the Gen4 Camry and/or Gen1 Solara. If anyone can take measurements of the larger bushing and stat what the diameter is (inside the metal support) that would help everyone. Also state what vehicle you measured on. -JoeB

JoeB,

I also received my bushings today. I'm unable to install at this time because I don't have my car. I guess I'll contact Glenn and send these back. Thanks for the update..
