my friends camry and my solara

hey. ive got this friend at my highschool whos into toyotas and import racing in general. he has camry 97 le 5s-fe I4. hes plannin on tryin to make it a lil faster. any ideas? im not familur w/ the 5s-fe. any good exhausts, intakes, rims tht look good, and performance stuff in general tht he should do? anyways heres the pics. thnks

if I were him... I would sell it and get a car that has power to begin w\.. its more expensive to make an import faster, rather than just get a car w\ a real motor

Tell him to get a Solara. Personally if it were me I wouldn't put any money into that Camry.

thnks. but yea he has no choice w/ the camry I4. he HAS to keep it. and he really cant afford a solara at this point. but seriously his car is pretty slow. i got to drive it around the parking lot and auto + 4cyl is so yea is there anything he can do to it?? i mean come on theres gotta been some kind of exhaust and intake for it

The only serious bolt-on upgrade availible is the Ripp supercharger. Or he can go custom turbo with the ct-26. Again there are supercharged and turbo 5sfe's on the toyotanation.com forums tell him to check them out.

Like I said whether or not it is worth it is up to him. I was just giving examples of the only mods availible that would make any kind of difference. I don't understand why you are talking about what is worthwhile. You spent money on your 1mz and I spent money on my 1mz. The 1mz doesn't have the most potential but yet why do we both spend our money on it?

Yeah I'm not sure why there is all this Camry's are slow stuff. Same engines, same chassis, same transmissions, similar weight and the same suspension. I guess some don't know the history of their own cars. Gabe's Camry was one of the first 1mz's into the 13's.

what do you mean? its expensive to build a 5SFE??? hahahaha... god im afraid to even look at the pile of reciepts i have for that car and its not even close to being finished.
