Low tire pressure warning light

Low tire pressure warning light

Low tire pressure warning light came on, so I checked for the tire pressure, when the tires were cold. It was about 32psi on all tires (recommended pressure is 29psi for P215/60R16, 40psi is max). The actual tire pressure was higher than recommended. So why is the low tire pressure warning light on!? How does Gen2 sense tire pressure?

Please learn to use the "SEARCH" function. This has been extensively discussed:

Basically the TPM system in the Solara uses the ABS sensors associated with each of the 4 brake rotors to sense differential rates in wheel rotation indicative of a variance in tire pressure. The system is prone to false positive indications due to any number of reasons. Lots of owners have experienced this same problem. Check pages 135 & 136 in your owner's manual for the reset procedure.

At this site, you have to pay for the actual instuctions of the fix. But, at least it lists the code.
