Unlocking the passenger's door

Unlocking the passenger's door

Postby cs1044 » Wed Apr 13, 2005 6:20 am

Is it possible to set it so that I can unlock the passenger's door without opening the driver's door?

I want to be able to just use the remote to unlock both driver's and the passenger's doors. Right now it only unlocks the driver's door.

Give it a fast double click...lolz. You should hear it peep twice and this will unlock both doors.

I've got an aftermarket alarm and I've got it set to unlock both doors with 1 press... :D

If you take your car to the dealership they can program the alarm to unlock both doors with just one click

Sam,

Let me know if the dealership charges you anything for programming the key to unlock both doors with one press on the key fob.

The dealership should not charge anything, this is a courtesy to customers that Toyota provides, so if the dealership trys to charge you, tell them you are going to notify Toyota.

Only if your dealer knows what they are doing. I asked them to do this when they changed my oil last time and they said it can't be done. It makes you wonder sometimes. lol
When in doubt gas it out, brakes just slow you down.

^^^Muahahaha, :drinking: :drinking: this is exactly what I'm talking about^^^ Some dealerships don't bother to look further into this or they're just plain lazy.

I guess I need to get the book out. The dealer said no go on my wifes 2004 Solara last year when she tried to get it done. So the concensus is yes on the 2004 that it can be programed for one hit to unlock both doors. Thx

Can anyone refer to what page it is in the owner's manual or post a DIY?? I cant find any type of brochure or paperwork that refers to the reprogramming of the locks.
