I am in the process of buying a Solara. I have the choice of buying the 2004 fully loaded demo Sport or get a 2005 new one. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What is the price difference for you? Remember the 2004 is already down in value due to depreciation. A demo also could have been repeatedly driven hard during the breakin time.

We haven't worked out the numbers yet. We are doing that Wednesday and I will post them then. The demo part does scare me. I am worried also about the 2004 since it was the 1st year of Gen 2.

Regarding first year versus second year, we've heard of 2005's here that have had some of the same issues as the first year cars. So it doesn't seem that all TSB's or other small fixes were successfully applied. I'd recommend going with a 2005 over a 2004 demo that could have been driven hard all the time unless the price difference was substantial.

One More Quick Thing

Postby captncoke » Mon Apr 11, 2005 11:23 am

I have been able to only test drive SLE. No one around me has a V6 Sport only 4s. Is the ride different between the two because I thought I read some where the Sport had a different suspension? Thanks.

Why not wait for the 2006 ? They're already starting to appear on the dealer lots, and hopefully they have more of the problems fixed.
